The helpfulness and pleasantness of staff. I find this really important. Couldn't fault any of the staff from the moment we arrived until departure. Had breakfast in our room every morning and the service was excellent and the food was also very good. We ate in the Amber Lounge and also the clubhouse. Food and service was good on both occasions.

The WatersEdge Hotel is situated in the town of Cobh, 200 metres from Cobh Train Station. It offers spacious rooms, free parking and a bistro-style restaurant that overlooks Cork Harbour.

The staff are extremely pleasant, helpful & professional as well as accommodating. Aga rearranged my stay due to cancellation during extreme weather conditions. She went above & beyond for me, with just a phone call. Highly recommended. The location is excellent & pretty impressive when the huge cruise ship pulls up alongside the hotel.

Maryborough Hotel & Spa, hotel in Fota Island

Set in 14 acres of 300-year-old listed gardens, Maryborough Hotel & Spa boasts elegant rooms with bathrobes, a luxurious spa, and an AA Rosette restaurant.

Exceptional staff. One of the front of house/cleaning staff noticed I was overladen with bags and offered to help take them to our room. There was a welcome half bottle of Prosecco in our room welcoming us. The bar staff were accommodating to our late arrival and ensured we could get some dinner just before the kitchen closed. The bar manager went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and did not feel rushed. The reception found me somewhere to sit and work with a plug socket. Absolutely outstanding customer service at all levels.

Fota Island resort never fails to deliver on relaxation and is a wonderful place for a getaway break. We've been back to this hotel on many occasions, and it will continue to be our 'go to' place. It has so much to offer from golf to spa retreats to an excellent location as a base for sightseeing trips. The staff have always been so kind and welcoming which adds to the air of quiet elegance which we associate with Fota! The hotel and facilities are well maintained, and rooms are fresh and comfortable (never worn or dated!).

Highlight for my granddaughter was the swimming pool.

Highlight for my granddaughter was the swimming pool. She wasn't allowed into the pool at the time we had booked. The booking was made at check-in where the receptionist was aware that my granddaughter was 13 years old. We returned from Cobh early to avail of our swimming appointment and were then turned away. The receptionist at the Spa was quite rude and when I asked him what was available in the Spa told me to look it up myself online..
