Liss Ard Estate, hotel in Baltimore

This stunning, 163 acre estate includes beautiful gardens, a 40-acre lake, and the fantastic Sky Garden crater. Fresh home cooking is provided, and guests can enjoy canoeing on the lake.

Location was wonderful, breakfast a little disappointing. Bacon underdone, better sausage to be found locally, only one egg. Floor very messy as family sitting there previous to us. Suggest keeping families at one end, couples at other end of restaurant - more easily managed and a better experience for couples

Baltimore harbour was beautiful and wild during the storm when we arrived. The next day all was calm and sunny, so we enjoyed the village and it's very nice restaurants. The vegetarian pizza + fresh fish and chips in Jacobs was delicious. So was the burgers in the Algier Inn. There is even a 2 Michelin Star restaurant if you are foodie We hope to come back during the summer to go whale watching and explore Cape Clear.

We stayed one night basically to stay at a place away from a city and nearer the sea. Quaint town, but did not have time for excursions…ate dinner at a nice restaurant out of town a short way from Rathmore House recommended by the house owner, called An Siben.

Wonderful view of the bay and islands.

Wonderful view of the bay and islands. Boat trip to Sherkin Is. and Cape Clear highly recommended. Please pick up rubbish and loose string as it can damage seagulls. It is easy to get around except when the town is full!

Baltimore was lovely, it was very clean and the people we encountered in the bar and shops were really friendly. It is really close to Skibbereen which has more in the way of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Casey’s in Baltimore was lovely for a read session and outdoor seating area to take in the views.

The harbour area was lovely above the harbour was hotels & bars where you could sit & enjoy all the comings & goings. Lively night life. great walks around the area. The Beacon is a must to walk too. We went on the Fastnet tour from the harbour a definite recommend. We ate at the Algiers Inn Gastropub a definite treat, great food & great staff, you cannot book a table only down side but worth the wait. It is a hilly area just to be aware.

Easy to miss as you are taking in the view of the harbour, but this is not a fault of the Hotel as it is in plain view when you look for it, it is right in the heart of Baltimore and within 2 minute walk of anywhere. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the facility is all you need. Lovely places all around to visit and the bar is comfortable and welcoming. Faultless really!

Stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 2 nights, room was spacious and warm, having a little kitchenette was a great bonus. Food on both nights and breakfast both mornings was exceptional. Couldn't fault a thing. Fantastic family run hotel, with great atmosphere, staff, food and views. What else could you want😍
