Wayan and Putu are amazing hosts, they will take care of all your needs. Nothing was too much trouble, they arranged taxi's to/from the harbour, provided us a comprehensive guide to the island and good spots to explore and we also rented a bike from them - location is quite a way up from the harbour so you will definitely need some form of transport to get around Nusa Penida but they can assist with drivers or bike rental.

We rented a driver for 2 days and he took us to the tourist spots. The road is very small and curvy but our driver was good. The views were amazing. We had to eat at the hotel and we enjoyed the food. One day we ate at a very exclusive restaurant far away from the hotel.

Ensure you check that the snorkelling company has all the gear and sizes you or your group requires as they will not likely return to the beach to accommodate the feet size for your fins.

Not really developed yet but moving quickly. Stayed at edge of a village so saw real village life barely touched by tourism. Would have liked some independent restaurants. Need to drive to get around. Take plenty of cash as atm far and few. Beautiful island well worth a visit for a short stay.

There are certain tourist spots like Angels Billabong and Broken bay that are extremely busy which spoilt it for us .
Atuh beach was quieter and better for us .
Most probably better as there is a walk with steps that people would see as a deterrent!
The rubbish side of things is also an issue in parts of Nusa Penida- as with parts of Bali too.

Nusa Penida is a must-see place at least once in your travelling career, there are multiple beaches and accommodation everywhere. It is underdeveloped compared to the rest of Bali but there are some gems and lots of history there to discover.
The hosts were really nice to us and listened to all of our questions carefully. We had the chance to discover the beauty of the landscapes for a really good price.
Our host was always happy to help us with a sincere smile. I recommand it to anyone who goes to Nusa Penida and I would definitely advise friends to stay there if they ever go to the island.
The breakfasts were satisfying and we slept very well in our room with AC.
We hope this hotel gets the credit it deserves. :)
The property was in a beautiful location, perfectly manicured, clean, and within walking distance to one of the most popular beaches in Nusa Penida. It’s owned by a Balinese family who is very warm and welcoming. They also helped take care of everything for us; from our fast boat tickets to and from the property, a bike rental, a snorkel tour, and even helping us find a photographer when I proposed to my girlfriend on the island. 10/10, we had a wonderful experience here.
The hotel could let us use scooters they had, which were cheap and the best way to see the island. It is a little out of the way, but super close to the beach which is a 4 minute walk away and stunning. Use a scooter to get into town or to Klingkling beach. It was a good stay- but places to eat require a scooter, or a walk to the beach where it is a bit basic e.g rice and fish. It felt welcoming and Nusa Penida was amazing.
The property is located close to Crystal Bay beach. You would most likely need to hire a scooter if staying here as with Nusa Penida most of the sites are on different sides of the island, the location of the hostel means you can reach diamond beach within an hour or Kelingking beach in less than an hour. The harbour area is 30 mins on scooter. The hostel was comfortable and perfectly fine for the two nights I stayed
The owners of the property were extremely kind and helpful. They arranged all of our activities for the time that we were on the island, and we were able to see everything that we had hoped in the short time we were there because of the flexibility and accommodations of the hosts. I definitely recommend this property and am grateful to the hosts for helping us explore and enjoy Nusa Penida!
This hotel and warung are undoubtedly the best on Nusa Penida. We slept like babies and enjoyed the sunrise every day. The staff is incredibly hospitable; they gladly arranged tours for us so that we could see the most interesting parts of the island. If you're planning to go, you should absolutely try the grilled fish specialty dish. It's freshly caught and 100% yum!

Maua was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed. The Restaurant was amazing, the included breakfast outstanding. Our Room was very clean and has a special architecture. Also the Staff were super friendly. I would definitely come again to Maua and can highly recommend it!
