Cold weather would be nice for you living in dry. Not too busy but enough to see the people in Batu City. Everything we needed was fully accomplished as we travel for a month in Java. Totally worth to visit.

I definitely recommend. I did 4 days tour to Bromo, Batu and Malang. It was Awesome, Great and Fun. I can’t wait to come again. Tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable, dealing with them was easy and perfect during the tour, and most importantly the guide was helpful and informative (https://bromonatural.travel.blog). I recommend to use their service if you want to visit Bromo on a such unique experience.

We went to Batu Secret Zoo and Eco Green Park, and all the animals there looks healthy and well maintained. We were having a great time there. Everything at Museum Angkut also well maintained. And we also love it there.
The negative side, the food store inside Batu Secret Zoo and Eco Green Park was not good. It is very cheap, but you sacrifice the taste for the price.
The toilet was also not too clean, though it was obvious that the cleaning staff already working so hard to clean it. Unfortunately it looks as though most of the visitors seemed unable to keep it clean. No tissue inside all the toilet, so you need to bring the tissue by yourself. But, the cleaning staff succeeded to keep the park clean. Thumbs up for that.
We also went to Batu Night Spectacular and although the kids were very happy, but many facilities there already needs replacement, refurbishment or renovation already.
Beautiful place located in Batu. It was quite and not that busy like in the the crowded cities. Beautiful big vila enough space for a big family. What I most liked was the harvesting around the vila. Their was many species of fruits vegetables and flowers. Very friendly people. Including the view from the mountain it's just perfect! Also very friendly owner. Everything was clear all question we had we did got a answer. Everything was good prepared. The place also located close to the sights of the beautiful Batu.
The 3 bedroom Catelya cottage was just nice for our family of 7. Very spacious, clean, and reasonably well furnished for a short stay.
The hotel itself has a good swimming pool, tennis courts, and spacious open space that gives a really fresh air feeling.
Breakfast was adequate. When the F&B manager knew that one of our family members had her birthday, they gave surprises by singing and providing free birthday cake. Nice touch indeed.
There was no breakfast, but for the price I didn't expect a breakfast. The owner was very gracious and treated us well. The room is pretty basic, but comes with a TV, AC, and WIFI among all of the expected things like a bed and bathroom. The owner apologized for forgetting to stock the room with a fresh roll of toilet paper. It is not a 4 or 5-star hotel so if you don't compare it to a Marriott, you'll appreciate the value it offers.
Everything here is amazing, their warm welcomes, helpful staff, cleanliness everyday, changing bedsheets everyday, plus clean towel everyday. I was staying for 8 days here, and no bad comments at all. Plus things they’re so kind, and the view from my room was a total brutal! Unexpectedly amazing! Close to Batu downtown, and lots of food you could find around the corner. Definitely will recommend everyone for this amazing guest house.

We love the Japanese garden and its beautiful design lobby. I often feel chilly everytime I step in the lobby, really like this kind of feeling. This is our second long stay in Kontena Hotel (8 nights). We're sure to come back for another long stay.
The room is spacious with big screen TV. The resort area is large, greenery and having the club where the swimming pool was. Staff is friendly and helpful, easy check in and out. The location is very close to the center of Batu City and so many people selling food are passing in front of the property so getting food is no issue even if we don't want to get out or order online.
