This was one of our most awaited stays of the trip, and it didn't disappoint. Each of the rooms are unique with features like a patio or an outdoor shower. The property itself is so beautiful. Nice yoga classes. Nice restaurant. And we had a view of the volcano from our room, and that never got old :)

We stayed in Lipah beach, which is about a 40-50min walk from the center of the main Amed strip. The walk is not great and I would recommend hiring a scooter. There are some amazing coffee places and restaurants away from the main beaches and only a short scoot away.
Try Kopi di Tymor (coffee), See You Again Cafe (views and food), Wellness Hub & Spa (massage).
Amed is not too busy (for Bali) with plenty of great small restaurants and bars. The beaches are wonderful and the weather seems to be pretty reliable. Lipah is amazing. Very beautiful in its own little cove.
Snorkeling is the main thing with a few spots for coral and turtles. The beaches are full of boats with people offering to take you around to spots and people renting gear on the beach.

Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area.
Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area. Good restaurants and bars. The sea is calm and lovely to swim in. I had a great time in Amed. Rimba and Galanga were my favourite places to eat. There is live music each evening in various bars. Taxi scooters are a cheap and easy way to get to places, and readily available.
The negative thing about Amed is the litter on the beach.

To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali.
To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali. Quiet, beautiful snorkeling, amazing nature and rice fields but still a simple laid back vibe. Lots of simple affordable warungs but also new coffee places (that serve meals throughout the day) with Scandinavian look
For snorkeling, we liked Jemeluk best, since it has beautiful corals and fish and a quiet sea.
Riding a scooter is easy and the roads are good.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way.
Amed is a bit no frills in a way. It's a beautiful spot for sure but the beauty is more in the relaxed feel of it and the lack of what makes some of the other places a bit plastic and un-Bali. It's a bit of a diver/backpacker scene and most of the places to eat are smaller-medium warungs, but there is plenty of variety. We are a couple in our 50s (non diving/snorkelling) and we just loved the relaxed calm of it all and the great food.
If you are a snorkeller or diver you'd be in your element here.
It was quiet when we were there ( April - Aussie school hols ) and is probably still quiet generally post covid.
It's cheap too. Maybe not Vietnam cheap for food etc, but your $$ goes a long way.
There's enough to keep you busy around the one beach but it's easy enough to get to other spots via grab. I reckon Jemeluk is the best spot though. It has a greater selection of warungs and little stores.
If you prefer the pristine golden sand experience, Amed may not be your best option but its charm goes very deep.

Beautiful snorkelling and diving.
Beautiful snorkelling and diving. Great small village with good family run Warungs, adequate shops and a decent road that’s quiet by Bali standards. Very friendly locals who arent too pushy like they are in the South.

Right place for adventure type of tourist as it's quite place. My fav place is Virgin Beach that has clean and white sand.
The minus thing is the transportation. No online gojek but you can rent bike for about IDR 60k /day
Great room with the most comfortable bed we've had in Bali. The hotel is situated right next to a beautiful beach (Lipah), where you can do beautiful snorkeling (even with turtles if you're lucky). The view from the breakfast area is beautiful, including mount Agung and one morning even a group of dolphins in the sea.
On walking distance you can find nice restaurants (Warung Asri was our favourite), more trendy places are at scooter distance.
The staff is friendly and can help you with booking transportation etc.
The rooms are spacious, nice, clean and right next to the beach from where you can go out snorkeling.
The fishermen go out early in the morning and come back during the morning with their boats, which is noisy, the departure at 4 o’clock we never heard and never woke up because of that.
The food was very good.
To get there from Sanur we arranged a transport by Amed Bali Adventure, which we can highly recommend, a transport organized by the hotel is way too expensive.
Bamboo Bali Hill is a very beautiful hotel, very well maintained and very clean. M. Gede, the owner, and his family are extremely kind and helpful, dedicated to their guests' well-being. The rooms and the comfortable beds are large. The facilities, the nice pool that look rtowards the sea, the outdoors with those gorgeous plants and flowers along with the amazing views, impossible to not feel good there ! I stayed 8 nights. It could have been 8 months.
Balila Resort is a great to desconnect and enjoy nature. The views from the hotel are just wonderful. I would really recommend everyone to watch the sunrise.
The staff and the owner are so nice and welcoming.
It’s a pretty private hotel, you can walk to Ames beach and it takes around 40-50 minutes, but also the hostal provide transportation services and other kind of extras like tours, natural healing, yoga, etc
Lovely spacious rooms just on, in my opinion, the best beach in Amed, Lipah Beach. Comfortable bed, nice hot water in the shower, good AC and a very nice balcony overlooking the blossoming trees. Nice restaurant too right on the beach. And, very nice and helpful staff. Also, Amed is great as a starting point if you want to visit places like Tirta Gangga and Lempuyang Temple, which the hotel helped me organize.
This is what you think of when you think of Bali. The older room I stayed in was exquisitely made of natural materials, bamboo furniture, thatched roof, huge deep porch with a lounging mattress. Huge trees sheltering all. The pool at one end and the little cabana at the other end where I could watch the fishing boats come in were wonderful other touches. The best place I've stayed so far.
One of our favourite hotels in Bali so far! It’s in the perfect location for finding great food, coffee, dive shops and the beach. The staff were really attentive and polite. The property is SPOTLESS and so well maintained, someone was always cleaning which really made a difference to our experience (no bugs or dirty bathrooms to worry about!) The pool is so inviting and again very clean.
We loved Amed Beach Resort. The family room was huge, two separate bedrooms and a lounge and kitchenette. Location is amazing, right on the beach and within walking distance to everything. The staff were amazing and helpful, organising motorbikes and snorkelling gear for us. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had in Bali.
My favourite booking.com find in a long time and deserves a higher score. Fantastic value for money, great breakfast with the best pancakes in Bali, and incredibly peaceful. Sea view rooms are especially nice. Great night's sleep due to the comfy beds and quiet environment. 4 minutes walk to the beach.
It was our second stay at Kunara, still as amazing as the first time. The owner and her family are always warm and accommodating. The breakfast (pancake with Balinese coffee / tea with a plate of fruit) was delicious. They clean the room every morning. The garden is perfect for our dog.
Everything was wonderful! What a beautiful place. Nice spacious room, nice patio, a few steps away from a beautiful beach and coral reef. What else do you need? WiFi was good (for Bali standard). Food was delicious, I really enjoyed the fresh fish! Staff was wonderful.
Amed is beautiful and Oasis has a great location in the middle on the other street to the beach. The staff was exceptional! Friendly and helpful. Alone for them I would go back. The WiFi was the best I had in Bali! You can rent snorkels and scooter right there.
We have been to Bali many times and found this little gem on our last trip. Probably the best hotel we stayed in! Nice small hotel with an excellent restaurant, great facilities, staff and owners were all fantastic. We highly rate this hotel and will be back.
So this hotel is located in a very remote part of Bali. It is so close to beautiful snorkelling on black sand! Staff were super friendly compared to other parts of the island. Fish is fresh. The views of the volcano from this side of the island are superb.
the view is unbeatable! the family who run this home stay are very lovely and helpful. Amed is a beautiful place, must see Bali destination. Homestay very close to popular snorkeling and beech bars. best views in Bali
best beachfront akomodatifnya in amed very quite clean best in amed room cleaan best spot view open window or room see beach best in amed. staff was amazing help full oragnize everything you can do in amed
If you like the quiet, laid back atmosphere, the best snorkling and diving spots at Bali around the corner, great ocean view, friendly staff and outstanding food: this is your perfect hotel!
