FAQs about hotels in Dubrovnik

The Pearl of the Adriatic

A medieval beauty full of magnificence and glory, Dubrovnik is surrounded by white stone walls. Located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, this masterpiece is one of the most promising tourist destinations.

Passing through the imposing stone gate of Pile Gate, you will find yourself immersed in history. Take a walk in the narrow streets of this charming city, enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the colourful cafés, or order fresh fish in one of the outdoor restaurants.

Surrounded by turquoise waters, Dubrovnik Old Town sights include the picturesque Stradun, Onofrio fountain and the Franciscan monastery.

The city’s cable car will take you up to Mount Srd from where you can savour panoramic views over the treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Buses connect Dubrovnik Airport with the city centre, and Booking.com offers a variety of hotels, apartments, and guest houses throughout.

We spent a full day in Dubrovnik, we walked around the old town, looking at the different stalls in the market and the unique shops. We accidentally stumbled upon a bar on the side of the cliff outside the walls, this was a fun and unique experience, we only wish we had brought swimwear to jump in with the other people there to swim in the sea. We ate at a small restaurant this was very good and great service. We also paid for the Dubrovnik pass which is worth it if you want to walk on the walls of the city as it is the price of that and includes and all day bus ticket along with access to different museums. We also went on the cable car to the fort and this was great. We did this at sunset and the views were incredible.

Definitely a must-visit whilst in Croatia.

Definitely a must-visit whilst in Croatia. A perfect place to end a super vacation! There's something for everyone here....history, beach, soft adventure, shopping and dining. Our hotel was a convenient scenic walk away from the Old Town but buses were just as easy to use and the bus drivers very helpful and friendly to tourists! Loads of dining to choose from, a great city to spend a few days.

We enjoyed Dubrovnik for 2 days. I found the time enough. The weather was comfortable in winter. We bought Dubrovnik pass for 35 euro which gave us access to Walking on the wall, couple of museums and free bus transport for 24 hours. We used the bus pass for travelling to Lapad town and main bus station. The pass is worth taking for anyone planning to walk on the wall. We enjoyed small boat tour around Dubrovnik, which gave us view of the town from the sea. Many nice restaurants and cafes in old town. The main street is very small and fun to walk. The apartments in old town can be reached only by steps and anyone with climbing difficulty should keep that in mind. There are staying options available just outside the Pile Gate, which are also a good option.

We arrived at the start of November which is the beginning of low season. This meant that almost everything was still open but there were no crowds. We were lucky with the weather as it was still 21 degrees and we could kayak and swim in the sea. We got the Dubrovnik pass which is very good value as it gets you into lots of attractions and gets you other discounts too. We walked up Mount Srd rather than taking the cable car which was great for views, but quite tough going on the uneven and steep path.

Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was fabulous, better than many 5 star hotels. Dinner was also superb - though the menu was limited and a little pricey. Highly recommend to eat here at least one evening if staying at the hotel. The bed was firm and super-comfortable. Great for a refreshing night's sleep. Location was what we wanted. Far enough from the old town to be away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to be able to walk (15+mins). Lots of buses and taxis if you didn't fancy the after dinner walk back.

Everything was perfect. First they help us to organise our transfer from the airport to the hotel, taxi + water taxi (our taxi driver was a very nice man and we had a good chat about Dubrovnik during our way). The hotel is very organised and clean. All the staff are very friendly, in the restaurant and also in the bars. The all inclusive drinks and food are excellent. Great variety of food and drinks available in the all inclusive package. The location is stunning, we love it!

Fantastic hotel and facilities we had zero complaints, the room was really big with a kitchenette, large bathroom and bedroom. The outside areas of the hotel were fantastic again and really clean, the pool area was brilliant and had views over dubrovnik. Not a complaint (as we knew about this prior to booking) but it's a good uphill walk back on a night from the old town.
