Some meals were really good, some just passable. Good location, and very good that the collectivo boats would pick you up and drop you off at the Casa.

Amazing spot on the Rio Dulce river. The staff was very kind, and they would help you with any question.
They cook home made food which is delicious.
You can rent kayaks and SUP for a very convenient price.
We loved it there!
Although we happened to be there in a very hot and humid day, we did enjoy the stay 100%.
There are a lot of travelers and you can meet new people, the environment is friendly and chill.

Beautiful place, very impressed with the natural beauty which is what we were after. Excellent food and staff!! If you're looking for a 5 star hotel with all the luxuries not for you. If you want to experience about as close as you can get to Guatemala's nature and beauty and still be comfortable enjoy!!
Located in El Higuerito, a few steps from Ribera Rio Dulce Beach, Tenamit Maya has a number of amenities including a garden, a restaurant and a bar. Guests can enjoy mountain views.
It should be a tourist hot spot in Guatemala. Unfortunately the beaches are covered in trash. I wouldn’t recommend a visit to Livingston unless you’re passing through. If you happen to have some time in Livingston I recommend a trip to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares. The lancha to Playa Blanca only gives you an hour in Siete Altares so we went back the next day. Just take a tuktuk to the bridge and walk. It’s a great place to swim in cool fresh water in the jungle.

Unfortunately, I was there during the rainy season - day and night - rain. I would have stayed longer, but everything I had was damp or wet. Hostel is easily walkable from the lancha dock. Or you can take a tuc tuc for 10Q

It's a very interesting little town and it's really worth making sure that you go to the beach and part of town where the Garífuna community live. They seem rather excluded from the main benefits of tourism in the town which seems mainly owned by foreigners with Maya staff. I don't think the Garífuna benefit financially as much as they should from tourism. Try the restaurants over that side of town by the beach - Guamo Place was excellent for example.

Safe little town. Everyone seems very friendly.
Safe little town. Everyone seems very friendly. Sad that there is not more info and guidance into the original Garifundi culture unless you dig or start talking to some people. Not sure if it can be reached by land, but easiest is taking the boat from Porto Barrios.
Eat at Margoth's - LA Mama (soups are great) and Mc Tropic (I loved the Tajadas).
We liked everything. Our host was a lovely family of 3 children. The room we had was in a bungalow with a private bathroom, brand new high quality mattress, white linen and mosquitos curtains. Martha is a great cook. The couple was very attentive to details and made our stay very comfortable and easy. Casa Maya is closer to Livingston which allowed us going there by kayak by ourselves.
Thank you Martha, Herson, Dora, Lenin and Camila for this wonderful and authentic experience within a 'chapin' family.
All of the staff were attentive.
Had a Seaview room that was a good size and spotless. Room serviced each day. Arrived early and they got room ready before check in.
Sent me instructions to get tuk to hotel and they paid..
Hotel short distance from town easy to walk.
Food good and large portions. Prices reasonable.
Able to catch boat outside to Rio Dulce.
Nice pool.
Nice to hear the water and birds that were quite vocal.
Thank you to everyone
The hotel overall was amazing, pool and the garden are beautiful. The rooms are a bit tired, but clean. The staff is supernice! The recepcionist Noemy (?) was very helpful. We asked if they have bedside lamps for reading, they didn’t have them, but next day they had brought the lamps. Noemy organized the anniversary party for my parents, including the place and decorations! She also organised us a trip to Río Dulce. She is amazing!
A really beautiful place to stay for a few nights just outside (still walkable) of the main town of Livingston. The breakfast was good and well priced for what you get. The plunge pool was a real treat.
The showers are cold and really refreshing with good pressure. Free drinking water is available there.
All staff very friendly and helpful too. Our private room was clean and it’s fairly well sealed from the bugs outside.
A very authentic place well taken care of by the host. Practical, with all you need for a pleasant stay in front of the sea. We enjoyed the calm, the beauty and the natural sounds of the night. The owner, Patrick, is a particularly caring person with a rare sense of humanity. Always ready to help and share information to make sure we made the most out of Livingston.
Thanks for welcoming us Patrick, we will come back soon!
This property is a very nice time capsule from at least the 1960’s. The initial appearance from the water is not so good, but it is no worse than any of the other places in town. But once you step inside, you will notice that the hotel is very clean and well taken care of. The hosts were all very helpful to our needs and requests. The next time I am in Livingston, I would definitely stay at Posada El Delfín!
Wow!!! Amazing hotel on the Rio Dulce river… the owners are a local family - Martha and Gerson (and three cute kids) are both really kind and friendly!
You can take a kayak and sail in the river to his springs or a waterfall near by. The food that Martha Cooks is really good :)
We really enjoyed this place and we highly recommend to come visit here and enjoy the birds, butterflies and the views 🦋🌺
The food at the restaurant is delicious! The staff are very kind & helpful. They have lots of tips for travel from Livingston to other parts of Guatemala, as well as Honduras & Belize. They also offer trips to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares. It’s a good day trip & I definitely recommend it if you’re visiting the area.
This hotel is PERFECT. Ismal the owner has a really good vibe. I felt at home, their is all you need here. The morning view is splendid. I had a bed with a view on the water. I could not have dreamt of something better for my last days in Guatemala. I recommande STRONGLY this hostal. You will not regret it.
Sonni and his dog buddha are very nice hosts. The house and the garden are a bit out of town, but beautiful in nature with homegrown products Like lemongrass and coconut.
Sonny's kitchen is well equiped. You should know that at the moment you are sharing the house with him. It's not like a regular hotel.
Hotel has good atmosphere, great garden with a lot of birds. Nice pool. Great view over the lake and birds 😊 Restaurant is a bit overpriced, but acceptable, food is okay..
Overall nice hotel, but needs some small fixing here & there.
Wonderful location right by the water in Livingston. Very friendly and helpful staff (including giving tips on local transport and not just selling shuttle tours). Tube and paddle boards available. Great food and drinks.
Giovanni provided great service.a d e an walked us to a restaurant we wanted to go to. The hotel walls are nicely decorated to reflect t the Caribbean and the Garifuna culture.
It is extremely hot in Livingston, so the air condition was great. The pool is nice. The food is okay (but expensive compared to other places in Guatemala).
