Such a beautiful little seaside village that comes to life at night. Could have stayed longer and enjoyed the views, vibes and people. Also we found the pricing cheaper for food and drinks. I must stop

The room was clean and relatively new looking.
The room was clean and relatively new looking. There is no wifi or tv in room. They have wifi at the bar and should be able to get it to rooms with routers but have not bothered. The bed was a disaster, it was hardest bed I have ever tried to sleep on. My wife and I both hardly slept and had sore back in the morning. We have been travelling for over 5 weeks had no problem with any other beds.

There is a great vibe at Matala that differs from the rest of Creta. The hippie feel is true. We caught live music the night we were there and it was the best moment.
This along with the red beach - strongly recommend.

Matala is a tourist hot spot.
Matala is a tourist hot spot. So a lot of restaurants there, lot of tourist shops with souvenirs and a lot of people. The beach itself is not that big, but it was nice though. I mean it really depends on what you are looking for. I am more fond of less crowded and less touristy places, so perhaps next time I would look for something more matching my preferences. On the other hand there is nothing wrong about Matala at all. All the people there are very friendly. Really it depends on what you prefer...

Matala is a quiet little town with not a lot of traffic, music or noise. You come here to relax. If you like naturist beaching this place is definitely for you (Red beach and Komos beach).
Moreover, Matala can be a good base for visiting the area (you have to rent a car or a bike).

The beach in matala, the red beach and the caves of matala are a must see. When you are in matala I would recommend the Restaurants Georges Yard, Plaka and Hakuna matata.
Absolutely perfect! From checking in to departure, Die Zwei Bruder team provided exceptional service and treated us like friends. We could not have asked for a more pleasant stay — clean, spacious rooms with every amenity, great hot water and fantastic water pressure in the shower, a lovely space to relax and the most delicious breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Very close to the beach, free parking and a team that delights in taking care of you — don’t miss this Matala jewel!
Amazing welcome by our host which let us feel so much welcome. Perfect facility with all what you need for a holidays, even possibility to make a little laundry of your beach clothes after day on beach. Walking distance to Matala city center and beach. Restaurants and bakery few minutes walk from the Garden rooms. This is one of my favorite places in Crete thank you Vaso !
The location of the hotel could not be better. A 2 min walk to the beach, a 2 min walk into gorgeous Matala village. Red Beach is close but quite a difficult hike up and back.
We stayed in El Greco apartment which was a perfect size for our family of 4. The bedrooms are spacious with their own bathrooms.

Enjoyed our day at Red Beach worth the walk.
Also remains at Festos, Gortyn and the new museum there.

The whole Matala beach is amazing, one of the best in Crete. And with the nice accomodation just a few steps from the beach, tavernas, shops makes the it unforgetable holiday. We miss Matala spirit!
Nice hotel in front of Matala beach, 3 mins walk from the center of town.
Rooms basic, clean and comfortable with air con.
Breakfast was plentiful. Pleasant staff. Overall good value for menu.
There is nothing that can compare to the view and the proximity to the beach, including the path to the beautiful Red Beach! Eva, the manager, was responsive, helpful, and bun!
Great location, easy parking, friendly owners. A small room was all we needed for a couple days at the beach. As a bonus, beach umbrellas were available for us to use!
