Promenade wonderful, bars & restaurants either side offering lovely meals. Quieter at the East end, livelier at West End. Really fun place.
Only complaint was that some bars played really loud clubbing type music, not impressed when you want to sit & chat.

What we didn't know before we booked a hotel in this area is that there were either a lot of young people partying or older people who have been coming for years. If you are in your 30s searching for somthing authentic greek, something tranquil, great food and beautiful secluded beaches, i would go somewhere else on Crete.

hersonisous is a beach vacation village. it is a place that got stock in the past. everything bery basic and very simple. the greek...especially the cretan attitude maked time slow down. it is somewhat a romantic place...there are now dark underground clubs and drug scene....but more open air beach dance bar and dance music. . alll ages fit in...you see plenty of 20s running around drunk at night.... and familieswith kids and mature people during the day and eve

It was spacious and modern. We were upgraded as the season is drawing to an end. Lambros met us at 12 pm at night from a late flight which was much appreciated. The air conditioning was brilliant. Cleaned every day to a high standard by a lovely lady who gave me great advice on Crete. We loved the pool, bar and music during the day and when we had enough, we closed over the soundproof doors. Beds were very comfy. Location perfect - central and on the seafront packed with shops, bars and restaurants.
We had a fantastic time at Creta Maris Resort! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the facilities were excellent. We especially loved relaxing by the pool or by the sea, then enjoying the beautiful sea views from the outdoor bars and terraces at sunset. The drinks and music created a truly unforgettable atmosphere. We would highly recommend Creta Maris Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation in Crete.
We loved the view from the balcony of the apartment, it was directly on the sea. The room was a little bit compact but we believe it is amazing value for the money we spent. It was perfect for a couple. We had such a lovely time and will definitely come back to Villa Sonia if we come back to Crete.
