Beautiful place located near Kalavryta on a small hill. You are surrounded by trees have a nice view on mountains around you and also a horse and cats will greet you outside your accomodation. The landlord lady is very nice and knows her business well. She does it since decades and you can feel her passion and experience of this long time in every corner of her business: Nice architecture, welcoming atmosphere, high quality rooms and furniture with love to details. Breakfast was amazing and if you come back from it some magic elves will already have cleaned your room and made your beds. We always were surprised by the excellent timing of that! So if you want quiet, nature, romantic atmosphere and premium feeling, go for it!

Fly to Athens International Airport, then take a 2.5-hour drive to Kalavrita. Alternatively, take a train from Athens to Diakopto, then a scenic rack railway to Kalavrita, total journey approximately 3 hours. No direct water transport available.
The most convenient airport for Kalavrita is Athens International Airport. It's well-connected globally and domestically, approximately 180km away. Its accessibility and proximity make it the best choice.

Kalavrita is a gorgeous town with lots of Greek History important sites, amazing nature walks and hike, lovely very affordable food and welcoming people. Even if you don't ski, as it is known for the ski resort, there are lots of things to enjoy. I will definitely revisit as 3 days at Kalavrita were barely enough.

Kalavrita is a nice town (bigger and more lively then expected... but again not a big town). We found a good restaurant offering a big variety of Greek food.
When we were there after the mid of August there was a nice concert in the main square and there were many people around. The shops were opened as well.
We saw the orthodox Monastery of Kalavrita (it is free) and I recommend the visit, there was a nice atmospheare.

Kalavrita is a nice get away.
Kalavrita is a nice get away. You don’t have to go to ski, just being in the quaint town it’s perfect. Strolls, eating out, there are some awesome places to eat. You can retreat in the warmth of your room. Read, chill or just watch a good flick. Also there are places to see that are not far.

We visited the Holocaust museum, that is realized in the real original school building where Nazist soldiers activated the massacre of Kalavitra inhabitants. Very well organized, effective, emotional
Then, we took the opportunity to jump on the cog train towards Diakopto, and to experience the unique, beautiful and unforgettable walk along the railroad path, with magnific view on the Vouraikos gorge and river.
Excellent dinner at "To Spitikou", with very good fresh Greek food and warm welcom by the host

The best thing about Kalavrita is the train journey up and back down. The town itself is nothing special but the scenery and surroundings are wonderful. Stay at Chalet Azanias. You will not be disappointed.

We arrived in the late afternoon, stayed a day to ride the narrow gauge railway in the gorge, visit the museum, and the Memorial site on the hill. The town is very nice with nice shops and restaurants. It was a bit quiet in October, but we found everything we needed. The train ride was scenic and the museum very interesting if you are interested in WWII history. It's a very sad chapter of history of course, but very well presented to honor the many victims and tell the story. The ride up to Kalavryta from the autobahn is amazing! We didn't get to visit the two monasteries nearby. You may want to consider a full two days if you want to see them as well.
Beautiful house right outside Kalavryta town, just 5mins drive. The house is very clean and comfortable with all the amenities and nice view of the mountains. The location is excellent, very close to the ski resort for those interested for winter sports (10mins drive). The house owners were very friendly and welcoming. The tap water is not drinkable and the owners provided enough water bottles for our 3 night stay for 6people.
The hotel is wonderful but the owner and staff are incredible! Warm, welcoming and hospitable, as if they were opening the doors to their home with all of the comforts you need. The location is ideal, just a short walk the Main Street, museum, train station and town square. The homemade breakfast was OUTSTANDING! Fresh, varied, satisfying. We can’t wait to visit again.
Great location, right at the side of the creek and forest, we went there for a short walk and breakfast.
The hotel is very nice, ring's are reasonable and the kids loved the bunk bed. Heating was also very nice to sit by on the cold night and the host was very hospitable and help with anything we needed. Great value for money though we stayed for one night only
It has everything you need!
fully equipped, clean, comfortable.
location was great, easy to get to the train and the main Street yet private and quite.
beautiful views from the window.
One of the best parts was the host not only very helpful & communicative but also warm and welcoming.
would definitely recommend and come again!
The room was exactly like the pictures. Very clean and spacious. The hotel employees were helpful with information about local businesses and sights. Lastly the food that was offered for breakfast was fresh and very tasty with plenty of options to choose from. We would definitely visit it again in the future.
I can only share the praise of the other reviewers for the friendliness of the lady of the house. The breakfast in the garden is indeed wonderful. The views are lovely, the room with two (!) balconies was excellent. Kalavryta has a very special feeling. Highly recommended!
Beautiful chalet with exceptional view of Kalavryta! The room was great, cosy with all the amenities, fireplace, coffee machine. Every day the polite stuff was bringing us traditional breakfast. Highly recommended, will definitely come back
The room was surprisingly spacious, very clean and warm. I loved the fireplace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice. The hotel is conveniently located near the center. There is free parking next to the rooms.
Excellent hotel at a great location in the center of Kalavryta. The room was beautiful and clean with good view. The breaksfast was very good as well. I would strongly recommend Achillion hotel for anyone who wants to visit Kalavryta.
The location was great. Short walk to the centre of town. Being in the hills, it was quiet and cool at night.
More like a small hotel than a guest house. The owner did everything he could to help us.
Breakfast was good, great variety.
The rooms were very spacious.
Pet friendly.
Friendly people.
Very nice view.
Very warm in the rooms
Close to Kalavryta but not in the center. Privacy.
The hotel staff were wondeful and very helpful. The hotel location is about 1km outside Kalavryta in a nice location especially if you want to go hiking or take your dog for a walk.
I had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Kalavryta Canyon Hotel & Spa. The location was perfect and the staff were very gracious and accommodating to my friends and I during our stay.
