Galatas is a place with a lot of personality, not very influenced by tourists, and very good Tavern prices. Although Galatas stands in front of a touristic island like Poros, separated from it by a sea channel of only 500 metres, it has kept its local character, it's interesting and intriguing. Galatas is at only a taxi boat journey of 5 mins away from Poros, if you want to enjoy the charm and beauty of this island which offers different things. They are 2 very different worlds although both very interesting. Don't miss Helenis Tavern on the main road at the front and corner with Artemidos Street. Another very recommendable tavern is Babis, in front of the Car ferry boat.

Galatas is a wonderful location for traveling not only to the Island of Poros, but also convenient for Hydra if you wish to get either the regular ferry for a day trip, or drive further along the coast to catch the smaller ferries, which run every hour to Hydra from Metohi. The are also regular boats to Spetses, from Kosta and Porto Heli which are just over an hour away by car. It has all the convenience of being on the mainland but to enjoy the delights of the Greek islands!

We come to Galatas almost every year for water-skiing and relaxation in the sun, so it is almost like coming home. We also enjoy shopping in Poros (enjoy the ride on the water-taxi to and fro) and indulging in the delicious Greek food (for example at YaMas). There are also enough places of interest to visit if you have had enough relaxation. Having breakfast at Plaka while looking at the sea - for us, it is not to be topped.

The main advantage of the place is its location, right in the heart of Galatas, very near the promenade, so getting to Poros or looking for dinner was not an issue at all. The system incorporated in the front door makes it easy to get in without having to worry about keys. Strange as it may sound, i 'm a small person and i would have apppreciated if it was placed a little bit lower. Overall, i chose the place as a last-minute cheap deal (and indeed it was very inexpensive and if it were a bit more cared for it would be just lovely.

This is little gem of a hotel. A Family run establishment, extremely nice, genuine, honest hardworking people. Nothing was too much trouble. For anyone wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of Poros, take a boat taxi across to Galatas for 1€, where you will step off the boat and you’re virtually at the entrance of the property. Top marks for the friendly, welcoming nature of all the staff, together with the cleanliness of the establishment. For sure, I will be back to stay here, many times over.

What a hidden gem in Galatas, the most beautiful view from the balcony both daytime and nighttime with all the lights. Plenty of little tavernas to choose from along the strip and a bakery underneath. We took a five min taxi trip to Aliki beach which was also amazing for a swim. The room is clean and comfortable, good aircon and bathroom is okay. Great value for money, highly recommend

Galatas is very easy to get to using the continuous ferry service. Bissias is located to the left of the ferry stop by a couple of blocks on the main street. Our room overlooked the water. The wifi was excellent. We were not expecting the kitchen facilities in the room but were pleased to see them. The bakery next door is excellent, as good or better than those in Athens.

The location of the hotel was perfect, at the centre of the village and right across from the boats going to Poros. The staff was very friendly and welcoming from the start. The rooms were very clean and the view was breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again soon.
