We couldn't have expected more from our hosts. Not only they were very friendly and available, but also hey helped us in many situations. Besides, the house is as lovely & charming as it seems on the pictures, and so does the garden.

Douliana is a hilltop village above Kalyves/Almarida which are about 20 minutes drive away. The surrounding area is mostly olive groves and hills. Douliana has two restaurants but in late October only one was open. Also, the village mini-market was closed. The villa complex is like an extension of the village and quite well done. The villas a spacious, comfortable and well equipped but expect to have to buy even basic things like salt and pepper. Overall a nice villa in a convenient location for exploring western Crete.

Douliana is a lovely authentic Greek village.
Douliana is a lovely authentic Greek village. It's very small and if you're looking for some peace and quiet this is the right place. It has 2 or 3 nice taverna's with lovely food. Douliana is located on a mountain about 15 minutes from the sea, so if you don't like driving in the mountains at night, this is not the place for you. For us it wasn't a problem though.

The villa was big, luxurious and spotlessly clean. We stayed for ten days and got fresh towels and linen, as well as a villa clean, three times! The pool area was also exceptionally clean. The whole setting for the villas is really well maintained and beautiful. Poppy was an attentive host, and was very helpful. There are two amazing tavernas within walking distance as well as a shop and cafe. We loved our stay here. The nearest resort of Kalyves is great, and definitely worth visiting.

The property and its surroundings were excellent. Lots of greenery and calmness all round. Even though it was fully booked, the atmosphere was one of calm and peace. Popi and Michallis were just amazing.
There’s nothing bad to say about the villa. We went as part of group with three other families so booked 3 villas in total. All were different but the feel, cleanliness etc were the same.
The restaurant on site serves excellent freshly made authentic Greek food

I loved the accommodation and pools, Poppy, Michaelis and Natasha added a personal touch to make it home away from home.
The wifi could have been stronger though. But loved every minute. Definitely going back again
