Although the buliding is old and holds a tremendus history (since 1870), they done a remarkable job and the Hotel is super! The restoration of the building is amazing, its modern, luxury with elegant designs (i liked a lot the interior design). The breakfast was excellent and everyone from the staff was very helpful and kind. The neighborhood is quite (Halepa area) with some beautiful old historic houses, churches and Museum (although i stayed in Chania for work i managed to visit the archeological museum which was very close). For me the next time i visit Chania i will definetaly stay there more days to explore more in this City and enjoy the stay on Domus Blanc

Aptera is a small village with a lovely food square that has 3 or 4 tavernas with proper food. Two of them with positive service characters :).
The ancient Aptera is really worth to see. At first, I thought what can be interesting in seeing the ruins, but the theater and the cisterns of the old city with a little bit of imagination were really worth to see.
Signs on the road are really well done.
Aptera as a village is good for one afternoon, it is really good to have a car and enjoy the beaches in the cities Kalives ( 10min ) and Almidira (20 min).
It is also very close to Chania and the airport.
