The hotel is in an outstanding location for a visit to Aghios Nikolaos: on the front overlooking the bay and with a view to the central lake and a 5 minutes walk from it. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and regular changing of towels. The municipal car park (free) was a few minutes away. Breakfast as buffet style and comprehensive.
Our stay was made special by the warm welcome and attention throughout of Joanna on the desk and Alison, the dining and bar manager. We have no hesitation to recommend the Hotel Port7 to anyone proposing to stay inAg Nik.

Visited this hotel 12 months ago and loved its location, and general atmosphere and nothing has changed with our 2nd stayover.The hotel offers lovely views of the sea/harbour. The rooms are just large enough for 2 persons with 2 single beds. And although the hotel is traditional it has great character,and affordability. And room service was every day. So a great 2nd visit on our 3 week holiday. Recommended. And a lift.

This is a lovely part of Crete, a bit off the beaten path, so it is not marred by the worst aspects of mass tourism, but still affords every convenience for the discerning traveller. The town of Agios Nikolaus is very nice to explore, stretching out over numerous areas including a colorful and lively pedestrian center, long seaside walks in various directions, and lots of shopping streets with bars and restaurants galore. Its unique geographical features mean that you can enjoy, in the center of town, stunning hilltop as well as lakeside and seaside views. As for excursions, Spinalonga Island is a must, along with an afternoon or evening in the nearby village of Kritsa (accessible by bus). There are lots of other places to visit, too, such as Sitia, if you have a car.

Taxi fee from Heraklion to Agios Nicolaos 85 euro ( one way) With 170 Euro, you can Rent a car for many days ( 20Euro per day ) off cours + fuel.
Taxis are just out off line in Greece ( My opinion )

Really enjoyed our stay at Agios Nikolaos, which we used as a base to visit Elounda and Plaka where we took the boat over to Spinalonga Island. We explored Knossos Palace and the surrounding area.
Ag Nik has plenty to offer - great places to eat, lots of shops and lovely views of the harbour and lake especially at night.
Stayed in an apartment/hotel which was perfect for our stay - only downside is there are a lot of steps to climb down to the town - but well worth it! ⭐️

I've been to Ag Nik about 15 times and totally love it. The town is lovely with lots of wonderful restaurants, bars and shops. It never feels particularly busy either. If you have a car then you can visit some truly magnificent beaches and villages. Ammoudi Beach and Amoudara Beach are great. Take a drive out to Elounda town for more places to eat and drink. For a wonderful dinner in Ag Nik visit Pelagos restaurant - it's fantastic! It's an easy drive from the Airport to Ag Nik as well. Make sure you eat at one of the many lakeside restaurants. The lake is gorgeous at night time. Make sure you go on a boat ride out to the Blue Lagoon - it's totally worth it.

Chrisa was a wonderful host. She welcomed us with homemade baked, fresh flowers, wine and snacks. She was so helpful in providing information about what to see in and around Agios. We loved the apartment . It was spotless, provided everything we needed and we had a fabulous view of the sea. I would definitely recommend this lovely apartment. Thank you Chrisa.
Perfect experience in this brand new modern hotel. Comfortable bed, powerful air conditioning units in every room , and excellent pressure and plenty of space in shower -all the rare qualities of accommodation in islands are here 😎. Owner and son are very friendly and welcoming, all personnel was very helpful - everything was perfect !Athena, the receptionist has a great sense of humor . Alex took good care of us and the communication was great! The apartment is in a nice quite area with lovely views, it is well kept and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and we had plenty of towels, soup and much more.
We were able to use the heated pool even in mid October!

The apartment and building are really nice. Large living room area with an amazing sea view, kitchen really well equipped. Located in a quiet area yet still very close to the main touristic streets. The taverna downstairs is the best place to eat, owned by a lovely family. Nicky, the host is really friendly and helpful. Absolutely recommend the apartments, it was one of the best stays we had in Crete and will definitely come back.
For me, the criterion is not the number of stars, but only the question of whether you feel comfortable and at home. We felt at home!! The first thing I would like to mention is the friendliness of the owner. we really enjoyed the breakfast every day.
The location is perfect for walking to everything in Agiaos Nikolaos. And for excursions on Crete you always have to drive for a while anyway.
Perfect villa to have his own place, not far from Agios Nikolaos and Sninalonga. Olga was a super host and gave us good recommendations of what to do nearby. The villa was clean and perfectly equipped, with a nice private terrasse and a beautiful sea view. I recommend this place if you want to be near touristic place without being in big hotels full of tourist, and enjoy
