Re the bonus question on method of transport used to reach 'this destination city', Wylam is a village, not a city, but the property benefits from a railway station 10 minutes walk away, with a train service to Newcastle, which was especially convenient as I was attending a meeting there on the Saturday.
Located in Wylam, 13 km from MetroCentre, Ship Inn LTD provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Welcoming staff, clean room. You'll enter from the pub but it does have its own parking at the back, and you can go in and out to your car in this way. Bed comfy enough but would question the choice of pillows. TV at the right angle. Good tea coffee availability but toiletries was just a dispenser on the bath wall (& sink).
The hotel is 300 metres from the terminal building at Newcastle Airport and a 15-minute Metro ride from Newcastle city centre. It has free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and a cocktail bar.
Just off the A1 and right outside the MetroCentre, Europe's largest leisure and retail complex, this 4-star hotel offers a convenient location, luxurious, modern rooms and great comforts and...

Despite also being a wedding venue, this is an excellent peaceful location in fact the wedding venue was separate to the main building and had its own car park. Staff at this venue super friendly, food excellent and was just perfect for meeting up with friends for dinner. Would definitely recommend
This stunning mansion set in 4 acres of award-winning gardens is situated on the edge of the Nothhumbrian countryside, yet only 10 minutes' drive from the Newcastle city centre.

The location. The room was amazing. David was the perfect host. He recommended where to eat and he was not wrong. We left a jacket and he called us before we left the area. Would highly recommend.
Wylam is nice little village friendly locals.
The Ship advertises breakfast on their web page but we didn’t get one. The landlady was on holiday same time we stayed so wonder if that’s the reason why we never got a breakfast. We paid £87 night for small room with very old beds.
We had no shower gels or soaps and had to buy from chemist. Joanne landlady was on holiday hence reason for no breakfast which is stated on website. The room was clean but bed was very old and rickety.
The pub bar staff were very friendly but very limited knowledge on accommodation almost to the point they was frighten to say anything. I did ask if they would pay £87 night for a rickety old bed in 9x11 room.
We aldd sad o had to make our own bed every day / night had there been availability we would have gone to another property..... very disappointed would like some one to call to explain how the dearest accommodation in Wylam yet the only one that doesn’t supply a breakfast

Great little place with friendly locals and very good real ales! We Just found it a little short on eating places on certain nights so visitors need to be aware. However, the village Co-op came to our rescue!

I have family in Wylam, and always stay B&B or hotel my choice. I like Wylam. I usually park the car and walk to wherever I need to go in the area, Found the coffee shop this time, and I always find something in the Pharmacy that is useful. Purchased a thermometer this visit, which I have not been able to locate elsewhere.
I love the sound of the river rushing through the place.

Loved that the house was in walking distance to shops, pubs etc
The house was immaculately clean
We were impressed with the water filtration system as we only drink filtered water and thought we would have to buy bottled water, huge bonus
So much better than staying in a b&b or hotel and cheaper too if there are a few of you
We were visiting family who live nearby but couldn't accommodate 6 of us.
We will definitely stay here again
Unusual place to stay but accommodation was good. We had the en-suite room which was nice and clean. They have a kitchen on the same floor as the rooms where there are breakfast cereals, milk and bread provided and facilities to make your own food if you want with a fridge, cooker and microwave.
Ideally placed for train travel and Wylam is a beautiful little village with a number of pubs.
The location was perfect quiet country pub,
Beautiful place inside perfect for the Christmas period, staff were the best, the hotel was imaculatey clean with the nicest smelling rooms! Food was absolutely banging! Best sticky toffee pudding to date.
breakfast was excellent, staff were really nice and helpful and accommodating . There was ample parking and the hotel was within easy reach of other bars, restaurants and the local shop. the room was well ventilated and spacious.
Staff were extremely welcoming and chatty, location was excellent with easy walking distance to everything in Wylam. Free parking space at the back of the hotel.
