Skies Call Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Winslow

Offering a terrace and views of the garden, Skies Call Bed & Breakfast is located in Steeple Claydon in the Buckinghamshire Region, 28 km from Oxford. Free private parking is available on site.

Skies' call was perfectly located for our overnight stay as we could visit Bletchley Park over 2 days, rather than having to put it all into 1 day. It was wonderfully comfortable and quiet with both rooms we booked having plenty of space and the lovely touches that bring immediate comfort. The breakfast was excellent and covered all our tastes and our hosts were friendly and happy to enter into conversation about the B&B and the local area, as well as the lovely personal touches in the house. We also enjoyed meeting their lovely dogs!

Winslow - full of history and very friendly people.

Winslow - full of history and very friendly people. Our host, Jeff, was very helpful, friendly and made us feel part of his family. Lovely local food - a home full of friendship, flowers and joy. Thank you Jeff for making our stay in Winslow so special. We visited Ascott, Claydon, Stowe and Waddesdon NT places of fame and beautiful gardens. An evening bell ringing with the local band was very enjoyable.

We only drove through Winslow itself on our journey, but it looked like a lovely place, and another time we would love to stop and explore. There seemed to be plenty of pubs where we coukd get a meal out if needed but we were attending Towersey festival so we were able to buy meals on the site anyway.

I liked that there's plenty of places to eat & drink

I liked that there's plenty of places to eat & drink Pubs were lovely with great food & drink. We thought there's no way our parents could have stayed at the bell due to poor health and age as far too many uneven floors and too man stairs plus too many nooks and crannys to get to the rooms. Great location for Silverstone and Buckingham

Good restaurants nearby within walking distance.

Good restaurants nearby within walking distance. Had a lovely Indian meal - 3 minutes walk away in the square. Didn't have time to look around in daylight unfortunately as we were visiting Bletchley Park.

Jeff is a great host and makes you feel at home. Happy to go out of his way to help and doesn’t mind if your working hours are a little unscociable. The B&B is hidden away down a quiet road, 2 minutes away from the friendly local pub. Clean, comfortable and cost effective - would stay again.

I booked into The Bell as I was meeting some of my family for the first time and travelling down from Milton Keynes thought it a good idea to stay the night. Well I fell in love with the place. The buildings are just beautiful, such an amazing history and the staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. The food was something else also. A very pretty town with some lovely little shops. If ever I find myself in or near Winslow, I would stay again. I recommend it to anyone. Can't speak highly enough of it 😊

The cottage is beautiful and filled with period features, both bedrooms were tastefully decorated, each with their own bathrooms. We had access to most of the house, including the pretty walled garden. Geoff was a lovely host and we were made really welcome. The location of the property was perfect too, right in the centre of Winslow but still very peaceful. Our puppy was also made very welcome.

The staff were lovely so friendly and helpful. The hotel was huge so socially distance was easy and well managed and the pie shop was awesome. We stayed in room right at the top and it was massive will all facilities. we used a taxi company from Buckingham if anyone needs one called Ash cars they were extremely good calling when on their way and happy to pick up again and arrived on time.

Although the English breakfast was good it isn’t kept hot unfortunately. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and had a similar experience last time. Feel this problem needs to be addressed. Fried eggs are available on request. The evening meal was excellent and in comparison very hot. Very good choice and reasonable priced as was our bottle of white wine!

Absolutely perfect. Working away is always difficult to find a match to what you have at home. However the comfort and more importantly the peace and quiet is key to a good night sleep and this is exactly what I had. Would highly recommend the accommodation. Also superb valve as well compared to other hotels in the area.

Lovely location of hotel, nice and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Old fashioned and quirky hotel which some people may be put off by, but we loved it! Surprisingly quiet at night, even on a weekend.
