York House Hotel, hotel in Whitley Bay

This Gold Award winning family-run guest house offers bed and breakfast accommodation overlooking Whitley Bay Park and 400 metres from the sandy beach.

Friendly, warm welcome from Michael. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the room was very comfortable and relaxing, with a lovely view over the park. The complimentary fizz and chocolates was a nice touch too. The hot breakfast was very tasty and the selection of continental items to choose from was excellent. The location of the hotel was ideal. Only a short walk to the playhouse we were visiting, the beach and local restaurant.

The Metropolitan Guest House, hotel in Whitley Bay

Just 150 metres from Whitley Bay’s sandy beaches, this 4-star bed and breakfast offers stylish contemporary accommodation.

Everything was tailored to a comfortable stay. The furnishings were good quality, there were lovely toiletries rather than the wall mounted pump-dispensed shower gel often seen in hotels, the decor was lovely and everything felt fresh. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, great coffee, and little touches like jam in jars rather than plastic sachets made my stay at this little boutique B&B feel like a treat.

Lovely 3 bedroom Whitley Bay Townhouse., hotel in Whitley Bay

Lovely 3 bedroom Whitley Bay Townhouse. Is set in Whitley Bay, 1.3 km from Whitley Bay, 15 km from Northumbria University, and 16 km from Theatre Royal.

Great location, very quiet and a short walk to sea front and railway station. Nice outdoor space with plenty of seating. Bed very comfortable and the bed linen wonderfully fragrant. Property has a utility laundry room, ideal for families. Good size kitchen with many utensils and a large fridge freezer. Front room has plenty of seating. The owners have retained many of the original features in the coving and ceiling roses, with high ceilings in all rooms nicely decorated. Parking permit provided and we found it easy to park in Victoria Terrace which is accessed via Station Road. Plenty of eateries locally and supermarket short drive away. Ideal for couples and families. Would definitely recommend this property.,

Whitley Bay is a great place for a break away, the beaches are beautiful, lots of walks along the promenade, great fish and chips at Trenchers in the Spanish City, St Mary's lighthouse is worth a visit plus quite good shopping area with some lovely independent shops, good transport facilities you don't really need a car.

Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops.

Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops. It also has easy access to Newcastle and the surrounding area by road and by Metro. In the summer Whitley Bay is busy but in the winter it is much quieter. I have visited this town many times while visiting my daughter. On this occasion my visit was not a holiday; I was helping my daughter to move house.

Whitley Bay is ideally place for walks along the coastal path both North up to Blyth and South down to South Shields and the pretty Souter lighthouse. Be sure to try to time a visit to St Mary's lighthouse for a spot of seal spotting. The walks along the promenades down to Tynemouth are all on the level with plenty of eating and drinking options. If time allows be sure to get the tram into Newcastle Central and the train from there to Durham to visit the marvellous cathedral and castle

I loved the walks along the coast to the lighthouse and to see Spanish City. In the opposite direction it is nice to walk along the coast to Cullercoats and on to Tynemouth. The walks are peaceful and the little shops at Tynemouth are lovely. There are plenty of coffee shops along the way and fish and chip shops if you get peckish. Parking is relatively cheap in Cullerboats but you may need to wait if the car park is busy, for someone to get chatting to.

Great location overlooking the seafront and the bay. A very easy stroll into town and a pleasant walk to Cullercoats and Tynemouth. The friendly staff at the restaurant downstairs allowed us to use their car parking spaces to unload and load the luggage and then we always managed to find a parking space in the streets behind the property. Parking was free with the permit provided. Raymond the host was very helpful with any queries being answered by return. All in all, very good value for money and we would definitely stay there again.

Property location was excellent, away from the hustle bustle, but near to everything. Greeting by staff was warm and friendly and nothing was too much bother. Quiet room, very spacious with a small kitchenette (Room 7) Breakfast on both days was out of this world, professionally prepared and excellent selection of different things. Breakfast staff were friendly and not stressed as sometimes is the case, made for a very pleasant stay, highly recommend. Well done York House Hotel, you smashed it 😀

Such a lovely property! Spotlessly clean, comfortable, fantastic location. Host Lee, Paul and Rosie went out of their way to cater for my Gluten Free dietary requirements. Delicious breakfast, eggs Bennie to die for. A short walk straight down the street from the Whitley Bay Metro. So easy to navigate from Newcastle Airport and at a very reasonable price. The coast line at the end of the street is beautiful. Walk the esplanade and experience this quiet area outside of Newcastle.

The location was superb, right next to the beach and a 5 minute walk from the town centre. A perfect base for me and my family whilst visiting our family in Whitley Bay. We took the kids paddle boarding at the neighbouring Cullercoats beach. Highly recommended! The hotel was clean and the beds comfortable, thank you for the warm welcome and thank you for a lovely stay! We’ll be back next time!!

The location was very good. Close to the sea as well as the shops. Road was nice and quiet. Nice to have an off road parking space. The message sent about the keysafe was easy to understand. The sitting room was nice and bright. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the main bedroom was nice and dark, whereas the back bedroom, although nice and quiet, was not very dark in the morning.

Great welcome, very accommodating - gave me extra tea bags! Parking was easy as full at hotel but cheap parking just a minute walk away. Had a quiet single room. A little dated but comfy and I wanted for nothing. And hotel right on the front next to the sea

The location is perfect for the beach and the sweet spot between Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. The decor was interesting and there was enough space for the three of us. The apartment is well enough equipped and the addition of a dishwasher is very welcome.

This is a great hotel for location - down one end of the road is the train into town, down the other is the beach. Staff really nice too and helped me carry my bag up the stairs to the room and got me a hairdryer when I asked.
