Village Pub with rooms, busy and lively on the Easter weekend. I arrived after the kitchen shut but they kindly fired up the stove again and supplied me with a tasty meal. Cheerful and friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble even after a busy day. Breakfast was good. Big carpark behind the pub, which is in a small village just off the A1.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, starting with a phone call the day before our stay to introduce the inn and ask if we would like to book an evening meal, which we did.
The room was great, across the courtyard. The bed was comfortable and the toiletries were lovely. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. It was nice to get biscuits and decaf tea and coffee options too.
Evening meal was tasty and there were several options that appealed to us. Breakfast was equally tasty and cooked to order.
Overall we got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they really wanted all their guests to have a good stay.
