Friendly staff; Comfortable clean room; Large bathroom; location in centre of town; just a 15 minute walk to Durham CCC cricket ground (which was the reason for my stay in Chester-le-Street). Have stayed here four or five times now. Always good value for money.

Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa, hotel in Ushaw Moor

Ramside Hall Hotel Golf & Spa is set within a 350-acre estate, featuring 2 Championship golf courses, with a combined 36 holes amidst mature woodlands and lakes.

Room was good eventually. I requested a room on the second or third floor but was given a room on the ground floor when I arrived! This, I find irritating as the reply to the request I made was confirmed. However, after that was sorted out, all was well. I have been to this hotel over many, many years. However, it is now outside my price bracket especially when adding in the evening meal so I only use for special occasions now.
