Just so pleased to have met Sue. She made sure we had all we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities were perfect. Lovely breakfasts. Nothing too much trouble, even looking after our plants. We hope to go back and stay with her again. A good selection of pubs for evening meals.

The Tudor House Hotel, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, hotel in Upton upon Severn

With a rich and vibrant history, the riverside town of Tewkesbury boasts stunning scenery, including almost 400 listed buildings and an elegant 900-year-old Abbey.

This was a really nice find. The room and its en-suite was very clean and was well equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. All staff were helpful and were able to give good recommendations regarding food choices, and things to do in the local area. The food (dinner and breakfast) was cooked to perfection, nicely presented, and served in good portions (not too much, nor too little). Highly recommended.

The apartment was beautiful and clean and very well equipped. We loved waking up in the morning with a stunning view of the lake and the wild life all around. The owners were responsive when we had any queries and checked we were having fun during our weekend break. The property was ideally situated for walking into picturesque Upton for shopping and eating out. We had a lovely time.

We sat on riverside terrace at The Swan with an amazing supper, and beautiful views over the River Severn and glorious gold and purple sunset. There is free parking at the rugby club opposite the church and there are many places to choose to eat. Two riverside pubs, a tapas bar with live entertainment on the Friday when we were there and other pubs and Indian restaurants. In daytime there are lots of antique shops to browse.

What a fabulous town to visit. On the banks of the river Severn, several quality traditional pubs and a tapas restaurant all within meters of each other, friendly locals, probably a very nice place to live. Why would you ever leave.

A pretty little town, with a couple of cafes, pubs and restaurants all in close proximity. Some situated along the river, which would be perfect on a Summer day. A variety of cuisine. We had meals at The Boathouse (tapas), Mojito bar (pizza and as name suggests a variety of mojitos!), and Sunday roast at the Lions Head. Can also recommend Henry's cafe and bookshop. Perfect for a short getaway. Also everywhere welcomes dogs.

We very much loved the river and the Tudor Museum was a delight to look round. We had two meals out in the evening, but there're numerous venues to choose from. We chose Tapas at the Boat House and Asian food at Pundits. We ate in the other two nights. I would happily stay in Upton again, as it's near many places of interest.
