Complimentary bottle of prosecco in the room, not sure why but think the staff worked out I was part of the wedding going on downstairs. Lovely gesture. Great wedding venue too, we had a fantastic day. Many thanks to all the team for contributing to an amazing experience.

Southernhay House Hotel, hotel in Upton Pyne

This intimate hotel is set in a Grade II listed Georgian gentleman's residence in central Exeter.

It was close to the Cathedral which is why I booked it. I loved the history of the house and grand but homely feel of the place. The breakfast was delicious and I would recommend it especially with the added mushrooms. I had tofu, roast tomatoes, spinach and large field mushrooms on sourdough. You don't have to be a vegetarian to like this!!
