A cozy annex cottage in a secluded area and had most the amenities we needed. Simon the owner, was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Conveniently situated a short walk from the town centre, this hotel is minutes from the town's mainline railway station and within easy access of business and industrial estates.

The building is stunning from the outside. Inside, however, it needs work. I'm presuming it is being renovated currently, but I would have thought they should tell you this. If it is not being renovated, then it's in a sad state. It's such a shame. The room we had was actually OK. A good sized room. Clean. It was the hallways and communal areas that needed work. I've read reviews from 2017 that say the carpet was worn out. Time to spend some money. The staff were nice. The bar area was really unwelcoming, very bare. Again, I'm presuming they are in the process of doing the place up.

Room was clean and well presented. All advertised facilities present and working. Staff were friendly and accommodated an early breakfast for those of us attending a local air show and needed an early departure time. Good breakfasts.

My gosh, where do I begin, from the lovely welcome in the reception and the helping with our luggage. The staff throughout our stay were amazing, fun to be around, and a great fun always and smiling. They were helpful in helping us and giving us suggestions and directions when we wanted to go somewhere. Huge thanks again to Jackie she gives off such a vibrant energy and also really upset and sorry I've forgotten her name she was our first point of contact on our first day at the reception, absolutely lovely she was also I believe one of the house maintenance she helped us with the directions to the fishing lake, thank you and to all of them for helping me with my first ever bike practice, thanks for your comments and support 😊🤣. I shall definitely be back. Huge thank you to everyone else. Also, the breakfast was amazing thanks to the chef and all who served us in the morning.

The hotel was lovely and the local pub full of character and happy people! Close to the beautiful Pitsford reservoir with it's stunning scenery and relaxing and easy walking and cycling around. The small villages and towns nearby just beg to be explored and we wished we had more time to do this!

As far as I know the only reason to visit here is the airfield. Immediately in front of the hotel is a company offering flights in vintage aircraft such as Spitfires and Tiger Moths and to one side is the base of the Blades Aerobatic team. Both were flying a range of aircraft all day with the Blades providing a full four aircraft flying display over the airfield for their own guests. It would be worth a visit for that alone. For anyone interested in aviation this is a great place to visit as the public areas are really close to the aircraft. We even had an impromptu fly past by the Red Arrows. Whether that happens often I don't know but as the Blades pilots are all ex Red Arrows I doubt it was a one off.
No problem parking cars and no parking charges and the Aviator Hotel offers bar and food service to non residents.

The amount of traffic at the aerodrome was quite a surprise, but not as much as seeing a Spitfire and a P-47 Thunderbolt in action. We didn't have time to visit the aviation museum, so can't comment... but you will need to check its opening times.
The hotel is what you would expect for the money they were charging. The cell phone signal out there was really poor so I relied on their WiFi but to be honest the Wifi was very poor in the common areas and nothing in the rooms.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, hotel in general very clean and tidy. drinks were reasonably priced.
ample parking
Should I need to work again in that area I would stay again.
The Hotel was beautifully styled in Art Deco which is one of the reasons we chose it.
It was also comfortable and clean with a good breakfast and evening meal if required. Great value.
Perfect place to stay to explore nearby Burley House, Stamford and Cambridge. Will visit again!
Food was good value and excellent for the price. The hotel has an amazing 1930's ambience and a lovely sheltered outside area; where if you are lucky, you can watch a Spitfire taxi and take off in front you while you sip your beer!
Absolutely fantastic hotel, the style and Art Deco surroundings and attention to detail are excellent. My morning alarm clock was the sound of the spitfire that flys from the aerodrome it’s based in,truly magnificent!
