Barton Gate Farm B&B, hotel in Stratton

Set in Holsworthy in the Devon Region, 10 km from Bude, Barton Gate Farm features a barbecue and views of the garden. Free private parking is available on site.

Useful overnight stay but out in the country so we needed to go to Bude for a meal. Helpful owner and fairly quiet at night. Our room was quite cold perhaps not helped by the outside temperature and weather

Great location for wedding venue we attended.

Great location for wedding venue we attended. Ate pub special day arrived, otherwise just had full English breakfast. Downstairs conversation travelled to room but after all building is very old. Plenty historical buildings for interest, accommodation is a coachhouse, centrally located, parking available. Walking distance to Bude though terraine a little hilly for the feint hearted. For those reliant on public transport, local bus runs often throughout the day.

Stratton is handily placed for it's larger neighbour, Bude. It has a couple of good pubs and is pretty, with quirky little streets. Traffic can be busy on the main road but definitely worth parking the car and having a walk round.

Stratton is a good place to use as a base for exploring the area. Some parts of it are quite quaint although, as many properties don't have driveways, there a re a LOT of cars parked on the road. There is, however, a free car park in the village. 2 pubs give you a choice of eating. A small local shop sells the essentials.
