We had never visited Stone before and we were amazed how many pubs there were in close proximity 😁
We did a treasure trail whilst we were there and really enjoyed it along with dipping in and out of pubs at the same time!
We have an evening meal at the Crown&Anchor which was really delicious.
The Mill@Stone Hotel was a lovely place to stay too.

I was there for a wedding so didn't really see the local area but went home to Yorks via Buxton. The road from the B&B to Buxton goes through the national park and the views were simply stunning! I recommend anyone to go visit this beautiful part of the English countryside.

Stone is in a lovely area and the high street had a variety of shops. There was a good choice of places to eat within walking distance. There is a wharf with canal boats. It is within easy reach of Alton Towers and is ideal if you are visiting the theme park.

I stayed a few years ago and didn't enjoy my time. However, with all the new improvements it is a much better experience. They have put a lot of effort and time into renovating a once dated hotel.
The Indian restaurant and cocktail bar are both out of this world and provide an incredible mixed evening of entertainment.
The continental breakfast was good value for money, and the bar was nice and quiet with a good selection of alcohol and soft drinks.
Not too mention there was free parking!
Excellent hotel ,food, drink top quality, staff ,polite and courteous, very clean hotel. Lovely setting.
Special mention for Dylan the night porter we came back late along with other guests and he was exceptional in providing a bar service under pressure ,an extra service which we really appreciated.
Also must mention the menu for indian food ,superb and of the highest quality.
Thank you for a wonderful stay .
The Monkey House B&B is a lovely little place to stay in the small town of Stone. We were made to feel very welcome by the hosts Chrissie and Noel (and of course little Bella). We were given most of the top floor and a living room to ourselves with two great rooms with plenty of space and comfiness.
Would recommend if you are planning to stay in the area for a couple of days.
3 en-suite bedrooms slept 6 easily , really comfortable beds, lovely showers and bathrooms. Great welcome by Phil and all their pets. Idyllic farm setting, great views over towards the Welsh borders.
