All seemed well initially on check in. Friendly welcome. We were given room 33. Initially it seemed clean. Had dinner which was ok but overpriced for what it was. At bedtime went to bed which seemed relatively comfortable. Woke up in the middle of the night to use bathroom, turned lights on to my horror to find bed bugs crawling in bed and on pillows. We had only been in bed 1 hour. After gathering bed bugs in back to show reception went down to reception as phone was not being answered. Unfortunately reception did not know what to do and didn't appear to care anyway. We were disgusted and felt sick. I was concerned as my husband is recovering post op and has lowered immunity. After eventually being offered another room after we had decided to check out we decided it would be. Cleaner to go home so we drove 5 and a half hours home. We were completely gutted as we were there for my husband's birthday and didn't want to risk his health any longer. We received a full refund the next day to be fair and apologies given but we would never return.

There was a wide choice of yoghurt, toast and fruits and cereals and there was a nicely cooked fresh breakfast and the staff in there serving the breakfast were very polite

Small village with several places to eat. Good pub food. Emma’s booked up early so didn’t sample it although it is supposed to be nice. The restaurant on he Quay is nice. Good facilities. Easy to get to other places like Dartmouth, Totnes and Brixham
