Lovely decorated room, very clean which is very important to us. Kitchenette was well stocked and looked after. Comfy beds. Breakfast was nicely done. Good location for exploring area. Let down by the shower which was small and the room was hot (summer) so probably perfect in the winter. Couldn't open all the windows only the velux ones and we got the kitchen smells and heat coming through from the pub next door. Entrance to the rooms was by the pub kitchen which looked unsightly and dirty- screening off would be a good idea to make it look more appealing. No proper hotel reception area when we arrived, just walked into the pub and asked at the bar - need to make it more welcoming. Overall nice stay for a couple of nights, though quite expensive compared to the standard hotels chains and not luxury enough to be boutique.

Staying here for a wedding that was local so didn’t get to see much of the village, but what I did see I loved. Beautiful cottage homes & fresh milk on doorsteps. Would’ve loved to have had the time to see more of it.

Only one place to eat - The Red Lion - v good!

Only one place to eat - The Red Lion - v good! But currently closed Mon & Tue. The famous garden is not really worth a visit. The Church is nice. Within driving distance of the indoor surfing venue (amazing tutors but don’t ask me about the management/structure/location of the indoor surfing : think Soviet Union...) Within driving distance of amazing Bedford Park & lakes! Definitely worth a visit.
