The property was recently renovated and the rooms are bright, ultra clean with great decorations and wonderful ambiance. Simon and Morvan our hosts are charming people who take great pride in providing a wonderful experience for each of their guests. We required a short travel ride service and they gladly came to our aid by providing the service themselves. The breakfast selection was quite nice as well with flavorful hot choices.

Distant Hills Guest House, hotel in Spean Bridge

Distant Hills is a modern couple-run guest house providing a good quality Bed and Breakfast service.

The owners, Dani and Cameron were so kind and welcoming and full of great information of things to do in their area and restaurants to go to. Appreciated the heads up regarding reserving restaurants in advance for dinner. The breakfasts were superb, one morning was the pancakes with berries, and the next morning was a Scottish breakfast. Nice to have a living room to relax in in the evening and meet and chat with the other guests. We loved our time there, and would definitely return.

We didn't really visit Spean Bridge since we wanted to see Glenfinnan, hike around the lochs and go to the beach at Mallaig. But it seemed nice and quiet. And Spean Lodge was a piece of heaven so we didn't really want to leave when we were back :)

Spean Bridge is a pretty little place with some stunning walks and scenery. The shop has everything you need for your stay and there is also a Post office. There wasn't a huge selection of places to eat or drink and some were closed when we were there but it was probably just the time of year and we ventured into Fort William which has plenty of choice to eat and drink.

Beautiful Small Village tucked away from the Hussle and bustle. Quite and Peaceful area. Mai Bus root to Fort William and surrounding area's. Locals are so helpful and supportive, specially, i was waiting for a bus to turn up for a while when a beautiful lady turned up and asked me if i was okay as she had noticed me being waiting at bus stop quite a while.

It's a good place to explore the area.

It's a good place to explore the area. Spean Bridge itself is tiny, but has one excellent restaurant at the Old Station. There are some other places but they are only open until 4 or 5, so I did not visit those. For additional options, you'd have to take a 15-minute drive to the next town over (Fort William). My hotel - Highland Bridge Hotel - has a pub attached that was frequented every night by the locals. So there is a place to hang out if you must. Overall a good location to explore the Scottish countryside. Considering everywhere you have to go will take you an hour, it isn't so bad you're basically 15 minutes out of town.

We felt safe and secure in our accommodation.

We felt safe and secure in our accommodation. Felt intimidated by locals who got angry with us for not breaking the speed restrictions and we were not alone that felt this! Not much to do in the actual village itself but is a good base to venture out, the b and b we stayed in though was a pleasure to come home to - Braelea, run by Margaret. A fabulous lady with knowledge for days out. We are in restaurants recommended by Margaret.

Rosebank is owned by wonderful lady by the name of Teresa, who reminds you of your favourite aunt whom you rarely see but welcomes you with open arms. She made us feel like we'd been there before, set a lovely table with lots of breakfast options, keeps an immaculate house with very comfortable accommodations and genuinely made us feel like we were home. I would HIGHLY recommend Rosebank to anyone staying near Ft. William or Spean Bridge. I wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be booking with here for our next trip

Gorgeous setting along the River Spean. Accommodations were perfect for our family of three—spotless, comfy, scenic location, and quiet. Having two bathrooms, a comfortable lounge/living room and dining area and well-stocked kitchen made for a perfect home base while we explored the area (mostly we hiked). It was also wonderful to have the opportunity to wash a few clothes, as we were entering the third week of our three-week holiday. Also, Rachel was a most friendly and hospitable host in every way.

We have been staying in holiday cottages for the last 29 years and this was one of the best, if not the best, that we have stayed in. The cottage was exceptionally clean and had all the amenities (and more) that you would expect in a holiday cottage. An ideal location to get to Fort William, Glencoe, Mallaig and Inverness, all within 40 miles of Spean Bridge but be prepared for a 4 hour uphill walk if you want to get to the top of Ben Nevis (and three hours to get back down)

Lovely welcome from Simon, who showed us the lovely dining area, large living room, explained the breakfast routine and accompanied us to our room. Nice outdoor seating area. Very clean room and en-suite. Comfortable bed and soft pillows, with extra pillows and blankets, if required. Good, strong shower. Plenty of toiletries and nearby shop where you can buy the same products (we went to the bigger Highland Soap shop in Fort William which also has a cafe). Good breakfast.

I loved everything and didn't want to leave! Dani and Cam are the nicest people we met in Scotland. The location is key to go to many places around, the facilities are amazing, the decor feels like home. The room is beautiful and smells great. The love and care they have for their guests is really well noticed and i cannot wait to come back already. Ah! Cam's pancakes are a must try 😋

10/10 for the host. Karin was amazing; friendly, nice, and chatty. Room is small but has everything it needs. A nice benefit is the pub in the same building with reasonably priced drinks; here you can watch sports with the locals and it's quite busy on Friday night, but I didn't hear any of it after going to bed. Hotel in a very quiet location. Dinner may be served upon request.

Ample parking space. Easily accessible to fort William and other attractions, closest being Nevis range mountain experience which we thouroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend Braelea !

Teresa was the ultimate host! She makes the best whiskey porridge we tasted in all of Scotland. It was creamy, the perfect balance of flavors, and a great start to the day! The cheerful room decorated with shades of gold and white overlooked the gorgeous front garden and felt luxurious. After a long journey, Teresa's warm welcome and homey touches felt like an oasis for us.

Relatively new B&B, still developping. Great room, great breakfast, nice little chats with the hostess (she is a great source of information about the area). Teresa loves having the Rosebank and it shows. If you are lookng for a place to stay near Fort William, this is THE place.
