Lovely village with several B&B properties but book early!
Lovely village with several B&B properties but book early! The only restaurant in town was the Old Station Restaurant. Really excellent food and ambiance but again bok early - its the only place we found to eat in the evening.

We didn't really visit Spean Bridge since we wanted to see Glenfinnan, hike around the lochs and go to the beach at Mallaig. But it seemed nice and quiet. And Spean Lodge was a piece of heaven so we didn't really want to leave when we were back :)

Spean Bridge is a pretty little place with some stunning walks and scenery. The shop has everything you need for your stay and there is also a Post office. There wasn't a huge selection of places to eat or drink and some were closed when we were there but it was probably just the time of year and we ventured into Fort William which has plenty of choice to eat and drink.

Beautiful Small Village tucked away from the Hussle and bustle. Quite and Peaceful area. Mai Bus root to Fort William and surrounding area's.
Locals are so helpful and supportive, specially, i was waiting for a bus to turn up for a while when a beautiful lady turned up and asked me if i was okay as she had noticed me being waiting at bus stop quite a while.

It's a good place to explore the area.
It's a good place to explore the area. Spean Bridge itself is tiny, but has one excellent restaurant at the Old Station. There are some other places but they are only open until 4 or 5, so I did not visit those. For additional options, you'd have to take a 15-minute drive to the next town over (Fort William).
My hotel - Highland Bridge Hotel - has a pub attached that was frequented every night by the locals. So there is a place to hang out if you must.
Overall a good location to explore the Scottish countryside. Considering everywhere you have to go will take you an hour, it isn't so bad you're basically 15 minutes out of town.

We felt safe and secure in our accommodation.
We felt safe and secure in our accommodation. Felt intimidated by locals who got angry with us for not breaking the speed restrictions and we were not alone that felt this! Not much to do in the actual village itself but is a good base to venture out, the b and b we stayed in though was a pleasure to come home to - Braelea, run by Margaret. A fabulous lady with knowledge for days out. We are in restaurants recommended by Margaret.
We stayed at the Highland Bridge Hotel just two days after the Pub downstairs was opened. We really enjoyed our time there, as we had the opportunity to chat to locals and have a few drinks with them. It is a 20-30 minute drive to Fort William but if it is food you crave there are a few restaurants nearby.
The rooms where nice and clean and the beds were REALLY comfy.
Breakfast was delicious as well.
Andre and his team were all really friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Will definitely go back there the next time we visit Scotland!!
This Bed and Breakfast is in the ideal location, 5-10 minutes outside Fort William. Our room was comfortable, spacious and immaculately clean! Teresa and her husband were warm, very welcoming, accommodating and genuinely loved having a conversation with us and learning about us! The breakfast (especially the Whiskey Porridge) was excellent - she was very accommodating to our vegan diet as well, offering helpful suggestions and alternatives for breakfast (to make sure that we ate!).
Teresa, meet you at the river at 8! :)
The Retreat is essentially a semi-detached apartment with bedroom, living room/kitchen and bathroom just north of Spean Bridge. The fridge was stocked with an excellent continental breakfast each day, and a microwave and toaster were available. Our hostess, Alison, was congenial and helpful. Everything was as good as could be.
Just to the north an excellent restaurant with a balcony overlooking beautiful Loch Lochy, the Lochside Brasserie, provided a perfect end to each day of touring the area.
These cabins are amazing, they are luxury cabins and not your typical camping pod. Everything about them was done really well. Kitchen inside, bbq outside, fire pit as well with table to sit at. Great views of the mountains in the distance and great location. Easy access to Fort William for food, Ben Nevis, Glencoe, Loch Ness and even Eilen Donnan castle as we did. Morris and Susan were excellent hosts. Highly recommended.
I loved everything and didn't want to leave!
Dani and Cam are the nicest people we met in Scotland. The location is key to go to many places around, the facilities are amazing, the decor feels like home.
The room is beautiful and smells great.
The love and care they have for their guests is really well noticed and i cannot wait to come back already.
Ah! Cam's pancakes are a must try 😋
10/10 for the host. Karin was amazing; friendly, nice, and chatty. Room is small but has everything it needs.
A nice benefit is the pub in the same building with reasonably priced drinks; here you can watch sports with the locals and it's quite busy on Friday night, but I didn't hear any of it after going to bed.
Hotel in a very quiet location. Dinner may be served upon request.
Dani & Cameron were wonderful hosts, they made us feel very welcome and could not have been more helpful. We had a good sleep, our bed was very comfy followed by a beautiful breakfast. I would highly recommend this lovely B&B, it is also well located for Fort William and the surrounding scenery in that part of Scotland is breathtaking.
Spean Lodge is my dream house in the Highlands and we feel lucky to have stumbled upon it at a time when we most needed refuge from the storm. As a host, Paul is an exemplar, and nothing was too much trouble for him - especially at a time when had just suffered a power outage across the Fort William area.
Marjory and Willie were excellent hosts. Great welcome. Very helpful. Beautiful B&B. Very clean. Marjory was kind enough to give us a lift home from Spean Bridge so that we could enjoy wine with our dinner. Highly recommend in every respect.
Perfect place to stay. Our favorite stay from our hotel trip. The grounds were stunning, all the staff were so friendly towards us and our two young kids, and our rooms were so comfy and quaint. Wish we would have stayed here much longer.
Margaret was an inspiring and kind person. The house and the room were as described. It was cosy and we felt very well. The breakfast was great and gave us energy for some beautiful hikes in the area of fort williams and Glenfinnan.
We didn't book a table in restaurant. Staff very accommodating as we arrived later than expected. They managed to get us a table and it was well worth it. The set menu was absolutely delicious. Lovely room and very comfortable.
Beautiful, historic B & B with stunning views. Set in quiet rural location a short drive from Fort William. Spacious, comfortable rooms and delicious freshly cooked breakfast.
