Quirky rooms, but there was quite a strong fousty smell.
Restaurant was beautiful, bar area could have been a bit more in keeping with the restaurant re furniture.
Breakfast was excellent.

The room was very small but freshly renovated. It was modern, clean, warm and had everything you need for a short stay. The bed and the linen was comfortable. We misunderstood the breakfast time and arrived let say late, but the staff accommodated our needs. It was a very good value for money.

Loved the breakfadt. Friendly staff and admosphere
Great location and lovely grounds. Tired and dated hotel room, dirty and not what I expect especially when I’ve paid over £200 for the night. The reception team were rarely visible. Couldn’t get food on arrival as they serve afternoon tea to outside guests and the tables were reserved or taken. I had a ground floor room with a lake view and the wedding marquee was situated there, the music was loud as where the guests and they all seemed to have a lovely time and I’m glad however, the wedding went on until the early hours and the noise made it impossible for me to sleep.

Reception, Restaurant, Bar, Location & grounds of the Hardwick Hall Hotel are second to none, Outstanding. The food in the Restaurant was also exceptional.
The room I stayed in was a little tired. The shower leaked onto the floor, not all the lights worked in the bathroom. The room was generally very warm, even with the window open fully & the fan on..

Sedgefield is a lovely little village with a busy High street, there's a choice if cafes and pubs all serving good choices of food and drinks. Also there's a few interesting little shops, Bettys Boudoir and Peridot. There's a beauty rooms a craft beer shop. Amongst other things.
There's some good walking too.

Sedgefield appears to be an ever growing area.
Sedgefield appears to be an ever growing area. It's old center still retains a lot of character but has become more commercial. Having lived there 45 years ago I was very apprehensive about returning but was very pleased that the "feel" of the place still remained. There are many fine places to eat and drink and Hardwick Hall Hotel is an excellent place to stay in the fabulous country park just outside of Sedgefield.

Beautiful area, obviously good if you are going to the races which we did. Easy access to lots of surrounding areas, Sedgefield itself small, lovely church, few shops nice places to eat. We travelled easily to Seaham, Durham and the theatre in Darlington a very good place to stay and call base

It did everything we needed it to for what we were using it for. We booked and stayed for an early anniversary night away 10 years after we got married at the venue. The hotel kindly upgraded our room free of charge which was very unexpected and greatly appreciated
