The location of the hostel was good and would be a great base for walking if I were to return to explore the wider area with a friend.

Beautiful property, tastefully decorated and well equipped
Featuring sea views, The Mariners Hotel is nestled in the heart of Lyme Regis. Dating back to the 17th century, this former coaching inn has a large private garden and rooms with free WiFi access.
Quiet peaceful town. Seemed to be a lot of cafes/bars/shops closed. Not sure if it's not busy season yet or just all closing down. Nice cafe/bar along seafront... great seafood and other meals, well priced . Good aldi but not a lot else. Lovely seafront promenade walk. Pebble beach. Public toilets. Nice for a day visit.

lovely little place. Very small but still lovely.
lovely little place. Very small but still lovely.
The tram ride is worth a go. We went to the furthest stop in Colyton and had a wander and drink in a couple of pubs, then went back to the next stop of Colyford and had a wander and a couple of drinks.
The wildlife you can see from the tram is lovely and all the drivers are knowledgeable and friendly.
Everyone seemed very friendly in the area.

We were there a bit early in the season so some of the eating places were not open but we ate twice at the monsoon Indian which was a `byo alcohol, the food was nice. We also ate in Sidmouth. Very easy to get around and buses very regular to Beer and Sidmouth and Exeter.

Stunning scenery, beautiful location.
Stunning scenery, beautiful location. Town just had no restaurants open in the week in the evening, all only serve Breakfast & lunch & then close or stop serving food. A couple small takeaways for evening week night food is all that is available.

Seaton is a very quiet unspoilt place that is lovely for walks along the beach, the cliff park or along the wetlands. It is very much for the local population and not that much orientated towards visitors. The tram ride is well worth a visit.
If you want noise and discos don't go.

Easy to get around Seaton on foot.
Easy to get around Seaton on foot. Ragini restaurant was very good. Hideaway on seafront good for a cream tea. Yeungs Chinese takeaway excellent. When eating need to ensure places are open when out of season. Large Tesco/Aldi etc in centre great if you are self-catering. Tramway a good experience. Donkey Sanctuary a surprisingly good visit too and "free" not many of those around. A very relaxing & charming location.

it’s location was excellent for a visit to Seaton. as the name suggests it’s connected to the Old Picture House.
The room had all the amenities required to prepare a meal if required.
a nice size lounge/kitchenette.
a good size bedroom with very comfortable bed.
the bathroom is compact and has a shower toilet and sink.
the whole apartment was nicely furnished and very clean.. being upstairs I was able to have the windows open without worry.
What a fab little place this is! Spotless, cute, excellent location just a 5-min drive from either Seaton or Beer. Was super quiet, easy to park, cosy, fitted out with everything you could possibly need (the stereo was a lovely touch - could get my greatest hits radio), the telly had Netflix - just what we needed after a day spent walking miles. To top it off, the owners are lovely too! We really did not feel ready to leave this morning!!!
Nice quiet park, and just a mile from Seaton, no shops near but there was a garage next door with groceries, which was useful until you could get to the shops! In the chalet, the bed and sofas were extremely comfortable, and the decor was charming. We had unexpectedly cold weather, but there were radiators in the bedrooms, and a portable heater for the lounge.
The breakfast was great, plenty on the plate and you could swap an item for another if you wished, Great!
We were sorry that at the time we stayed the hotel was not serving evening meals. but it was a great week end.
The room was great, comfortable and spacious. The facilities were clean. The breakfasts exceeded our expectations for a family-run hotel. The hosts were kind, friendly and chatty.
