Lots to do and see in the immediate area and convenient for travelling further afield to other nearby places of interest. The Rufford Arms was an excellent place both to stay and to eat. Don't miss Rufford Old Hall and the narrowboat marina on the canal.

The gaggle of misogynistic men that propped up the bar since teatime that you had to squeeze past to enter the pub. I was so embarrassed that my young son had to listen to their sexist language whilst with me. The smell of cannabis was overwhelming and the staff, with the exception of the lady at breakfast, weren’t particularly helpful or friendly.
Great sized room but the lock on the door was difficult to open.
The area was beautiful and we could have stayed longer and gone walking. The hotel room was quiet even though there were a lot of people staying. The room was very nice and clean. We enjoyed a drink when we arrived and the man in charge was very helpful and friendly. The meal in the evening was good and very reasonably priced as were the drinks. The breakfast was great all freshly cooked and no buffet style . The staff in the evening and at breakfast were professional but friendly and efficient.
A very nice welcome, comfortable beautifully furnished room, everything clean and in excellent condition. We were offered dog bowls, blankets and treats for our dog, which was a nice touch.
We opted for room service which was served promptly and presented nicely on a white linen lined tray. All the staff were very polite, smiling and genuinely lovely. The restaurant was busy and is obviously popular with locals too. We were recommended to stay there by friends in Rufford.
A really friendly, welcoming, typical northern pub with the added advantage of having accommodation. The rooms were superb. They must have only recently refurbished them but at the standard of any chain hotel if not better. The evening meal in the bar was really good. The full breakfast in the morning was just as good. An added advantage is that it is not far, but far enough from the M6. A perfect stop off on the way North or South.
homely cosy country pub fab choices of seating areas , fire burner, hotel rooms clean & tidy & cosy without outside tables & seating in nice garden ,
very reasonable price to stay including a big fabulous full breakfast , highly recommend ,
helpful staff very friendly thank you me and my friends enjoyed our stay
This is a basic hotel that provides great value for money and is super clean and tidy- cheap rooms normally come with a cleanliness tab but this is fantastic. Decent breakfast also and really friendly staff 👍
Pub is decent also
Very comfortable hotel in a quiet, rural location. It was perfect for what we wanted. The room was modern and very clean. The food very good. Staff friendly.
