Traditional British breakfast well cooked with many options and choice available. Excellent restaurant for an evening meal should you require it with a wide choice of food available including fresh local sea fish. We used the restaurant twice and had faultless meals fairly priced. Great variety on the specials board as well.

The Ollerod, hotel in Powerstock

The Ollerod is set in the heart of beautiful Beaminster and surrounded by stunning countryside.

Breakfast and evening meal were lovely. They had a few ‘building’ problems, such as door lock not working, blinds broken, coffee machine not working quite correctly. Room was a little cold, but worked out ok for the second night.i

The Bridge House, hotel in Powerstock

Situated in Bridport, just 5 minutes’ drive from the coast, we offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Weymouth can be reached in 30 minutes by car.

A beautiful period house decorated in keeping with its age and full of interest. Our room was well appointed, dinky but we expected that. It was lovely, clean and warm. The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast offering was excellent, a good choice of fruit, cereal, hot drinks etc and the cooked breakfast menu was extensive and catered for all tastes. The vegetarian option was first class. Located a 5 minute walk into the main town we found this perfect, close to restaurants, coffee shops etc but away from the hustle and bustle. A bus stop was just opposite the hotel if you didn’t want to use the car for exploring. The hotel had a handy car park for guest use and the pretty garden was a quiet haven for relaxing with a bar facility. There was also a communal guest lounge for guests to use.All in all the Bridge House was the perfect choice for us.

Welcoming hosts and very spacious and comfortable room. I was pleased with how dog friendly the Inn was, we were able to take our dog into the restaurant at breakfast. There are a few miles of single track road to get to the Inn which can be disconcerting if you're not prepared for it.

Pretty little village with a nice church, the pub and some attractive stone and thatch cottages. Narrow lanes/roads, connect with shops and supermarkets at Bridport, a bit over 10 minutes distant.

Powerstock is a small friendly, farming village. The church is particularly interesting. A friendly village hall too. We could have joined in the harvest supper but decided to eat at the Inn. We went to a very interesting show there the following night.
