Porthleven is a beautiful town, with two pubs, plenty of restaurants, fish and chip shop and pasty shop. A small supermarket is also there. Fabulous walks along the coast to Loe Bar, a big sandy beach. Close to Marazion (St Michael's Mount), The Minack theatre, and easy access to Heston, Truro and Falmouth.

We visited Porthleven back in September on a stormy day when the waves were crashing over the harbour so wanted to visit in summer. The beach is a shingle beach, quite a few pubs. We eat at the harbour inn both nights, you must book to get a table as it gets very busy, food was tasty and good choice on the menu. Staff were also attentive and friendly.
Quite a few shops to look around also.
Easy to walk around, car park in town easy accessible too.
We arrived here after a week in Looe, visited Trebah Gardens (on our way here) which has it's own beach, well worth a visit, and Mousehole is another village worth visiting in this area as well as St Michaels Mount.

Lovely coastal village in a valley, with a harbour, beach and local walks in beautiful countryside.
Good village shop. Pubs, cafes, takeaways mainly good quality. Some over the top prices but mostly good value.
Recommend the Catch chippy and the Harbour Inn particularly. Ship is a great local pub.
Plenty of music.

I would imagine it is very busy in the summer. January is a great time to take a short trip here. Looks like a lot of holiday homes or second homes are here, but that did not take away our enjoyment of the location.
The coastal walks are amazing.

This is a real Gem - a beautiful little harbour, with interesting gift/craft shops, galleries, plenty of choices restaurants and pubs. Great outdoor seating and wonderful views out to sea. Not as busy as some places we visited in Cornwall which certainly added to its charm. It was interesting whatever the weather - a sunhaven and a great place to watch rough seas and high tides. the coast walk in either direction was wonderful with amazing views out to sea. A small beach on the otherside was a great space for those tempted to surf - though the water was pretty cold.

We like the unspoilt harbour .
We like the unspoilt harbour . There was a lot of building work when we were there but that will end. Also a road closure which caused heavy traffic to pass where we were staying. Breakfast facilities good close by.

The apartment was in a great position in Porthleven only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour and restaurants. It was well equipped and clean and very warm. No parking is available at the property but there’s plenty of free parking around Porthleven and a public car park nearby. We were able to stop directly outside the property to unload our car. Key box made for an easy check in.
Beautiful location which was also in walking distance to Porthleven. Bell tent was beautiful with everything supplied. Bed was really comfortable and cosy. Lovely extras like marshmallows, teas, hot choc, lights, firewood, all utensils, deckchairs, picnic table, cooker and pans, fire pit. Host was very lovely, friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again
Everything about our stay was fantastic, lovely clean property.
Kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable, amazing bathroom with walk in shower .
Only a short walk to the harbour .
