The beer was excellent, so nice to get back from a long day, sit in the bar which had a very welcoming atmosphere and not have to drive anywhere. The food in the restaurant was outstanding, we ate there twice. Gino's breakfasts were very good, especially the black pudding. Comfortable rooms and the village was in easy travelling distance to all the places we wanted to see.

Local pub for food (if you are going to/ from pub in the dark, you will need a torch and high vis vests - its very dark and the road is narrow) and lots of walking options in the day.
The weather was rubbish, so our plan to make use of the outside fire pit was scuppered. The privacy of the huts was good with the option of the larger field area for other games. The indoor shared area looked comfortable too.
Would consider returning in the warmer weather.
The beds were comfortable, but the sofa bed was very hard.

Just returned from a 1 night stay. Magdalena was a delight. She messaged us with information on the day and even offered to do a 20 minute round trip to buy mushrooms for breakfast. The room was spacious and stunning. The bathroom and main room immaculate. The bed was huge and so comfortable, I slept through the night for once. We had a balcony overlooking the countryside which was private and sheltered and a lovely spot for a drink after a long drive. Check in was easy and there is ample parking. The pub next door is a real treat, incredibly friendly lady in charge with great food at very reasonable prices. Magdalena cooked us a sumptuous breakfast in the breakfast room/kitchen and it was lovely to chat without feeling pressured. We felt as though we could have chatted all day. Check out is 11am but Magdalena said no rush. All in all, one of the nicest, most relaxing, peaceful and value for money stays we have had. A pure delight. Thank you Magdalena x

Quiet village between Hay-on-Wye and Ross-on-Wye... has a relaxed community feel. A half an hour drive from the Black Mountains (Brecon Beacons), which in reasonable weather are stunning to view or walk. Local amenities are limited, with one local shop and no cashpoint - but two or three places to eat/drink along the main through road.
