Comfortable and chic room with thoughtful amenities like proper coffee in the room and a communal snack bar. The restaurant was a real cut above with elevated pub classics. We had two dinners, both really good. I had a risotto covered with tasty little morsels the first night and then a perfect steak with a tasty salad with pickled mushrooms, delicious beef fat chips and truffle aioli which they were happy to substitute for the listed peppercorn sauce. My husband had a very good homemade pie and then an elaborate burger with brisket as well the patty. Puddings were a highlight - particularly the pistachio pannecotta with local rhubarb. Everything was well considered with tasty and unusual accompaniments and generous portions - we were stuffed with one main each and then a shared dessert. The manager Gary and his team were lovely and made us feel so at home, he even gave us some change as we were short on cash for the quiz night (great fun) and they kindly packed us venison sausage rolls with a little pot of sauce for a picnic. The setting was beautiful with walks through the Dales straight from the property, it felt very rural but we were still able to order an uber back to Leeds train station (we came with no car).

We stayed overnight as a prelude to visiting the Emmerdale Village which was a short drive away. We both wished we had stayed for an extra night as Otley has a lot to offer. It was market day on the Saturday and Otley really comes alive at night time with its many pubs and restaurants and is surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

We didn't stay there very long so didn't get to see much.
It was only an overnight stay on the way to our next destination.
But what we did see was very nice.
Would go back and star longer.

I am biased as my father was born and bred in Otley so it will always be a special place even though we now live a hundred miles away. Otley has beautiful alley ways and guinnels winding through its centre. The river area is wonderful for families and the little independent shops are a treat. Eating out is not a problem and the pubs are numerous. We met some warm and welcoming Yorkshire folk.

OTLEY is a very interesting city.
OTLEY is a very interesting city. Lovely river walks and plenty of historic interest. You can see where Thomas Chippendale, the world famous cabinet maker lived. Also the fascinating Archimedes Screw hydroelectric power plant that used to power the paper mill and now providing electricity to the grid. Lots of restaurants and cafes. Nearby is the Chevin Country Park and Forest walks with spectacular views of OTLEY.

Met at the accommodation and directed straight to our beautiful spacious room, the view was fantastic. The quest house is on the edge of Otley and Ilkley so both towns are easy to drive down to. The breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely. Local tavern was a short walk with a good selection of ales and food. Perfect country parks for walking, can't wait to go back. Everyone made us feel welcome.
Perfect location in the heart of town but nicely tucked away. Easy to find due to the detailed instructions from Charlie who's guide to the property, facilities and places of interest in the town was excellent. Otley itself is a vibrant little town with lots to offer, especially if you like to graze from place to place.
This hotel is fantastic. The design is beautiful & minimalist but not in a way that feels cold/sterile. It has a lovely atmosphere and the rooms are SO comfy. Food is excellent
