The noise from froom next door kept me up most of the night. I was so tired in the morning when I was going to be driving another 2 hours. Not very fair when I paid to have a rest.

What welcoming staff and so accommodating. When we arrived the kitchen wasn't open for lunch yet, but they took our order and served the food really quickly. Chips were delicious! They also checked us in a little earlier as we were on our way to a wedding. Breakfast was perfectly cooked. The rooms are all newly refurbished with courtesy lights in the bathroom and wardrobes. Clean, crisp sheets and towels. We were very impressed. If we are out that way again and need to stay over, we will certainly choose here. Lovely story about the Inn too.

Ateugglws to get a table in the restaurant.

Ateugglws to get a table in the restaurant. The food was good but we had to sit near an open door, which was draughty. The bathroom was a bit tired but adequate. The bed was rock hard. I was told the mattress was brand new. Not convinced. Still it was cheap, so you can't expect luxury. We didn't get a good night's sleep due to other patrons deciding to have a conversation outside our room at midnight, and then leaving in the early hours noisily. But rhat is not the hotel's fault.

    Very relaxed atmosphere.

Very relaxed atmosphere. It was more akin to staying in a friends house rather than a hotel. Very friendly owners. Good pub for evening meal [Sun Inn] within walking distance albeit alongside the main A30. Hotel on main A30. not actually in village. Will certainly stay there again.

Pefect real ale, the food I haf was poor, medium rare rump steak very tender but dry. Cooked breakfast - egg was "hard fried" and the grilled tomato never saw the grill and was also hard. To cap it all there was no hot water at 7.30 am, so I had to forego my morning shower. No one at reception, so told the breafast waitress, who passed my complaint on to "someone". No apology or explanation, was forthcoming.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant offers a wide choice and the food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. We were late for breakfast on our final morning, forgetting it ends at 9am during the week, but the restaurant manager was still able to provide a tasty continental selection.

Very pleasant staff, room was clean and comfortable. The meal in the restaurant was very nice, breakfast was lovely too. We were due to come in May but my son broke his elbow two days before coming, the hotel was very kind and re-booked our trip for a later date at no additional cost.

The hotel is dated, no doubt, but still not bad for the price and what's most important - the rooms are very clean. And the breakfasts are to absolutely die for! For that reason alone I will definitely come again when on the way.

Perfect stopover location. Great for the price and the food (dinner and breakfast) in the pub was better than a typical motorway hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. I’d stop here again.
