Peak Hotel Castleton, hotel in New Mills

Set in Castleton, 17 km from Buxton Opera House, Peak Hotel Castleton offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. This 3-star hotel offers free WiFi.

It was very poor and a total rip off. £150 per night with no breakfast and the room was dirty with an old pizza box left of the floor and smelly towels. Highly dissatisfied and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. We should get a refund as it was not worth £150 a night. A premier inn is better value and cleaner.

The Peak district is just one of the most beautiful areas in the world and the Little Mill is very well situated to provide an opportunity to explore the beauty. As a gastro pub, it provides very good meals made from local produce and one can also get a very good draught beer. The rooms for overnight are excellent, spacious and comfortable. Walks from the front door are spectacular if one likes raw nature at its most beautiful level and some of them can be quite challenging.

New Mills is a lovely, distinctive town with a system of old viaducts that you can walk under and around. Other walks include the Millenium Walk that passes by the river Goyt and the ruins of an old mill. The local shops have everything you need for a visit and there are some lovely restaurants we would particularly recommend Sicilian restaurant A Travola. The town is well located for exploring the southwest area of the Peak District beyond with tors and dales a short drive away.

    Lovely place to stay.

Lovely place to stay. There was a real homely and family feel to it. Dogs and children welcome. The staff couldn't do enough to help. The food and drinks were really reasonably priced, portion sizes were huge! Would absolutely stay here again. Such good value for money
