Needingworth is a nice small village with a few pubs and a village shop. Its small and not a destination, but its close enough to St Ives and Cambridge if your staying over.
The Queens Head in the village centre is a good place for lunch or an evening meal as the food is always good and plentiful. The Pike and Eel serve good food but accomodation is poor.
There is an interesting golf course on the outskirts of the town, and plenty of shops in the nearby St Ives with good parking

Would have liked more time to look around, go for a walk with the dog who we didn't bring this time. Everyone was friendly. Just over an hours drive from where we live and aside from some minor roadworks the journey was very relaxing without issues. Enjoyed the fresh air and how spacious and clean everything was. We had high tea at the local carriages of Cambridge. High tea on an old pullman carriage which had the bonus of moving and having the clackety clack sounds of a moving train. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would do it again. It's very filling so forget an evening meal. We didn't get to try a meal at the pike and eel marina but we want to go back to this hidden gem just to try the food. For a mum and dad get away that doesn't break the bank this was a great trip to blow off cobwebs and refresh your body and soul from all the grind of daily life that gets you down. Trip was too short but life called us back from our tranquil getaway. We are looking at dates to get back there ASAP. There looks as though there is lots to see and visit here but we alas didn't have the time this time. There is a greggs, mcdonalds, aldi and petrol station we used which were great but there was much more to see

Needingworth is much further from Cambridge than indicated - at least twice as far by road. There is hardly anything at Needingworth, you need to travel 3 - 5 miles to find shops, petrol etc. Cambridge is a 25 minute drive.

The location on the River Great Ouse is very attractive. Good to see a lot of time, energy and investment going into this lovely old pub/hotel/marina. Hope they appreciate customers needs and comments which will ensure many return visits.
