When we last stayed with you in passing we were told that you were gradually decorating and refurnishing the hotel. It's quiet obvious that his has been carried out, and well done. We loved our room which was a lot more spacious than some. Lovely decor too.

Easy to reach from main roads, but very little traffic through the village itself. Lovely village pub, in great location, with good food and variety of drinks (happy hour on Friday was an unexpected bonus). Small village store for essentials, but easy to reach larger supermarkets. Lots of footpaths and cycle paths cross the village, so perfect for outdoor walks.

Motcombe Village is a Dorset treasure placed between Shaftesbury and Gillingham. I know it well as it is my home village. It has a Village Shop and Post Office, a Village School and a Village Hall,, as well as The Copperidge Inn, now its only pub after The Royal Oak closed.
It has beautiful fields to walk your dog in and you can also take some pleasing walks around the area. Gillingham has links to London by train and it is only a short distance to Motcombe from there. Shaftesbury too is a short distance from Motcombe - both worth a visit. Motcombe is a peaceful rural place and you can offer hear sheep bleating and the sounds of horse hooves on the local roads.
