    A revisit.

A revisit. I wanted so see Shurland Court and a wonderful church with oil lamps at Harty. Minster and Eastchurch have attractive churches. Not much at Sheerness but the harbour fortifications are worth a look. Good birdlife at Harty Marshes (saw Marsh Harriers hunting)

There is a beautiful promenade with fantastic public toilets that are very clean. Plenty of seats on the grassy slopes to admire the wonderful views of the sea and coastline. Stunning houses line the road opposite the beach.

Minster has a lovely pebble beach and very calm water to swim in. There is not a lot of choice for food and the nearest shop is a long walk (uphill) from the seafront. However, there is a small kiosk for tea, coffee, milkshakes and ice cream - perfect beach for a day trip when taking a picnic. We stayed in a nearby hotel and ordered fish and chips delivery which was lovely as we travelled with a toddler and couldn't go out in the evening.

We used the nearby Max's Traditional fish and chips along the Minster Broadway and it was very good. Definitely would recommend this place to eat. We also ate in the Hotel restaurant one evening and food was very nice but the service was on the slow side. You really need a car to get around the Isle of Sheppey as public transport isn't that great. You can walk if you are able. The beach is not far from the hotel.

The prom at Minster is long and extends all the way to Sheerness. The prom has an extensive, impressive range of outdoor gyms, a Sweet Hut (coffee, snacks). It has a large grass area which extends all the way to the east end of the prom.

Lack lustre feel to the place.

Lack lustre feel to the place. Closed shops and no pretty heart to the place. We only visit to see family but I wouldn’t come otherwise. The sea is an obvious attraction, but the whole seafront feels dead- no nice shops or attractions.
