Friendly staff , reasonable size room. A dog bed was supplied ,which a first......meant we had less to take in with us,also easy to walk straight from the door early mornings. Parked easily just outside . Good location for tripping around The restuarant accomodated even though we hadn't booked and it was well worth eating there. Good freshly cooked local foods.

It isn't a large village and seemed to be just the buildings next to the main road. One pub was closed and the other one very pretty with a really gorgeous beer garden. Missed it all week as looked at all the flowers on the building when passing through bur the last day we saw the garden on the other side of the road opposite the pub, Didn't see any shops but there were a couple of roads up to the 5 reservoirs above the village. Loved it at those and even fed the ducks at one. The nearest village to the cottage was actually Middleton -in-Teasdale which had a lot more to give. Shops, pubs and eating places.
