Old Hall House, NEC, hotel in Meriden

Located less than 3 miles from Meriden, Old Hall House, NEC offers 4-star AA awarded B&B accommodation in a country house set in a rural location.

The shepherds hut glamping pod was very nice, I wanted to book something a little different and I loved the idea of it. There were plenty to chose, some more modern but I liked the rustic feel. The restaurant was beautifully decorated the quirky art work and clocks on the walls were great, they all had price tags on so assuming you could purchase them. The food was lovely, (dinner and breakfast). The land has so much potential, it just needs some TLC. Would definitely stay again but try a room in the house next time.

Price was great, room was spacious and comfortable, location was great. Stayed here before, but in the budget bunkbeds. This was much better - twin room with a small walk-in shower and good screen. Helpful staff!

Novotel Birmingham Airport, hotel in Meriden

The closest 4-star hotel to the arrival and departure terminals, The Novotel Birmingham Airport is just 1 minute's walk from Birmingham Airport complex.

Stylish calm comfort, combined with its excellent location, made this an ideal stopover before & after our holiday. Rooms were clean and well appointed - especially impressed with the iron and full size ironing board! The restaurant is exactly that, "restaurant quality", having a good range of options expertly cooked and beautifully presented, the scallops & beef cheeks were particularly delicious, with a wine list to match. The staff were efficient, helpful & nothing was too much trouble particularly at dinner when Senura and Gairuka's cheerful and friendly service made us feel at ease and if this restaurant was on our local high street we would be regular customers!

Reception staff were good. The buffet breakfast was good.

Reception staff were good. The buffet breakfast was good. The kettle i the room was dirty inside so I passed on tea and coffee. The room was cold there was a heater but I couldn't get it to work. Dinner was nice but it took an hour and a half to get a burger.

The best thing about this hotel was the quality of the food.

The best thing about this hotel was the quality of the food. The menu and specials were the same for both evenings but there was plenty of choice. The restaurant was full on the Friday night and service team were great. I would definately dine there if I was a local. The one negative for me was although the stylised subdued lighting was perfect for an evening in the pub and maybe setting off to bed, there was insufficient light to get ready to go out. Room 12s window overlooked the courtyard shared by the restaurant so the blind could not be fully pulled up either. The food was so nice though!!

Nice location close to the NEC but no lift for heavy suitcases, poor expensive evening meal from Marco franchise unless you like burger and lots of fancy chips, no fridge and other issues with room 101, generally we were disappointed for a best western, thankfully the Bear Inn is not to far away who served fantastic pub food and better wine

Abismal! We arrived to an extremely busy pub.

Abismal! We arrived to an extremely busy pub. We stood at the check in desk which was covered with dirty plates for ages. No one would acknowledge us, we were totally invisible, eventually one of the barmaids checked us in. Room was nicely decorated however the bathroom skirting was all black mould as was the base of the shower. The window sash cord was dangling but the worst was that we had no view whatsoever from the window! We had a brick wall and roof within touching distance. This restricted daylight should be highlighted on the booking information to give you a choice if you want to continue with the booking or not, I certainly wouldn’t have. Although this is a pub we are still paying hotel prices! Again for dinner the pub was stupidly busy, and everyone was stood waiting for their tables. We were supposed to eat in the restaurant however we were eventually given a table just at the bottom of the stairs. Service was extremely slow but food was ok but it is expensive. Breakfast is another story; no cereal or fruit for breakfast, not enough cups, the boiler was empty, the juice was empty, the service was very very slow. To top it all the cleaner was vacuuming around other guests tables! The place is totally badly managed so won’t be back!!

The hotel is ideally situated for nec 10 min drive into the countryside. Parking is ample. The rooms was a bit tired lick of paint here and there. The bathroom was spotless and very nice. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough to make your stay wonderful even gave us a plaster and fresh milk for the rooms. Linen and towels were very clean bed comfy room was big. Recommend visiting the restaurant the food was brilliant. Breakfast was buffet style but eat what you wanted loads of choices. For the price we paid better than some big brand hotels. They made you feel very very welcome. We will be back next year

Location to NEC good. Have used this hotel before last time just after lockdown which understandably was a difficult time with lots of restrictions. Unfortunately nothing much has been done to enhance this large hotel. Facilities in bathroom sadly lacking no place to hang towels or to put toilet bag. No chair in room so had to sit on bed. When asked for a chair was given a metal dining one! The staff were pleasant. Lunch and evening dinner was fine.

Super cozy room with nice decor and boutique feel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location for exploring the Midlands. Particularly impressed with the restaurant downstairs, which is decorated really nicely. It has a versatile, tasty menu. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast there. I think it’s popular with locals too. Hotel and restaurant were excellent value for money. I would definitely stay there again if visiting the area.

Visited here as I was travelling for the Arnold Classic event held at Birmingham NEC really glad I found this place! It's not your usual hotel it's got more of a homely feel to it and the staff go beyond to meet expectations. Lovely and clean room no complaints there and a comfy bed! Freshly cooked breakfast every morning, Plenty of options on breakfast and drink. Will be back!

Really friendly and helpful staff. Everything was clean and room had everthing you needed. Restaurant and bar on site for breakfast or other meals if you require. We booked to go to the commonwealth games and was impressed with the price whereas other hotels seemed to be charging silly prices. Easy to get about to the various sites as bus stop almost outside hotel.

I liked the location of the hotel, close by to a wedding we was attending just down the road. The hotel was easy to find, and plenty of free car parking spaces. The staff were friendly, rooms clean and tidy and quiet enough to sleep well. Just the right temperature too.

Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, as was the 'buffet-style' breakfast in the morning, and the service. Great location, only 15 mins from Birmingham Business Park/NEC but quiet - lovely garden and view at the rear of the hotel!
