This family-run hotel is set overlooking Redcar seafront, just a few steps from the sandy beach.

Old building but well maintained staff were welcoming and friendly, food was excellent value for money and well presented. Our room was up two flights of stairs but staff were very accommodating and moved us to a room on the ground floor.

Hotel is in a fantastic position on the front, large Sea View room with two windows was lovely. Hotel team were really friendly and supportive. Let us leave the car in the hotel checkout day to do a little more of the coastal walk. Breakfast was great and gave us great start to the walking day.

Very friendly place lots of cafes bars and restaurants also beach right on your doorstep. Saltburn and Whitby a stones throw away. Everything very laid back. You also have the best if both worlds with beach in one direction and Yorkshire Moors in the other.

We stayed in Jackson Court in Marske-by-the-Sea for 3 nights over Christmas 2022 & prebooked Christmas Eve & Christmas Day meals at The Ship & The Mermaid (both dog friendly) respectively. Both were within easy walking distance of our accommodation & provided excellent food. Marske is compact, but has everything - takeaways, pubs, a dog friendly cafe and a few shops. It's very close to the beach and is within 1 mile of Redcar and 2 miles of Saltburn reached by beach walks. Just loved everything about Marske and would heartily recommend it.

Marske is a mostly residential town midway between seaside resorts of Saltburn & Redcar. We found the town to be really well maintained with very friendly residents. Everywhere walkable in the town with pubs, eateries & takeaways but best bit is the gorgeous beach which extends from Saltburn to Redcar (about 4 miles) & our dog just didn't want to leave when we took him there. You must try the parmo at the Zetland hotel (a teeside delicacy!)

Marske is a small town, the beach is beautiful and Sandy. If you are looking for amusement arcades, you are better off in Redcar but that’s what I loved about Marske, just the sea and sand. Marske has a train station and local amenities were good for a small town. It is located 2 miles from south from Redcar and about 2 miles north from Saltburn on Sea.

Great beach, no shops on the beach all natural!

Great beach, no shops on the beach all natural! Clean and uninterrupted views. Gateway to seeing other places ie Whitby, Saltburn, Yorkshire Moors. Small shopping precinct in town, with pubs, traditional Fish and Chip Shop, Craigs....a great place for breakfast and they make their own bread and cakes. Little convenience stores for essentials. Even a Dog Bar!! A bar designed for you to take your best friend. Beach Retreat is dog friendly too, so pets will be spoilt!
