The hotel's in a great location for getting around Lyme and very close to bus stops. Our dog-friendly room was lovely with easy access outside and on the ground floor. We ate our breakfast in the downstairs bar and staff were very helpful bringing food and drinks down to us from upstairs though this was a little awkward. The breakfasts were lovely! The weather was hot and the fan was appreciated.

Loved the staff, really warm and welcoming and very helpful and nothing was too much for them. The pool was lovely, says it was a heated pool and it isn't but it was a very sunny day so made it bearable. Breakfast was lovely and easy to choose your options, bathroom, bedroom etc was all lovely and clean. Bed was slightly hard but very spacious so didn't really affect anything.

An interesting place to stay and also a great base for visiting attractions within a 20 mile drive. Shops for food if self catering were basic although had all that was required. Restaurants were well catered for with a mixture of prices.

Beautiful walks along the Jurassic coast. Wonderful light.
Beautiful walks along the Jurassic coast. Wonderful light. Lots of places to eat etc, if very overpriced. unless you call 10 pounds for a toasted sandwich in an average cafe a fair price. Beautiful sea views and walks. The whole place has a special and magical atmosphere.

Lyme Regis is a lovely town on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
Lyme Regis is a lovely town on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. The scenery is wonderful, as are the beaches. The area is famous for its fossils, and ammonites can be found while walking on the rocky beaches by the cliffs. Lyme is also famous for being the town where paleontologist Mary Anning lived and worked. There are excellent pubs and restaurants.

We arrived in late afternoon on the eve of D-Day+80, and after half term was over, so it was pleasantly empty! We were working there on a video production so focussed in that, eating in an Indian restaurant in town that was superb and seeing the basic sights and waterfront after the majority of visitors had left, so, in our opinion we saw Lyme Regis at its best. If you like crowds - which we don’t - the weekends and summer holiday season will be just what you want. If you want peace and quiet the off season will be perfect for you.

I loved Lyme Regis.
Things to remember:
•If you're renting a car, rent a small one.
•Don't bring large bills. Most businesses want card interactions or coins/small bills.
Great restaurants, nice shops, picturesque setting, dog loving community.
Go - be sure to not schedule every minute. Give yourself time to wander and enjoy the town!

A beautiful Dorset resort.
A beautiful Dorset resort. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Some lovely walks and great beaches.
I would recommend it to anyone.
Harbour inn for Sunday lunch, Millside restaurant for an evening meal. You need need to book in advance to prevent disappointment.
Plenty of Bars on the sea front, places to eat and drink and ice cream shops. Watch out for the always hungry seagulls.
Great hotel, full of character in a perfect location right in the centre of Lyme Regis, welcoming friendly staff. We booked two rooms, one for us and one for our daughter, both were clean and spacious. We chose to eat in the hotel on the evening of our stay and really enjoyed our meal. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and there was lots of space in the secure car park for our car. We would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Lyme Regis.
This is a gem of a place. Set on the sea front in Lyme Regis it is a wonderful place from which to explore the town and the coastline. The room was wonderful and could match the facilities of any top class hotel. The staff are very attentive and the food is lovely. We would highly recommend The Pilot Boat.
Beautiful hotel with plush fittings. Attentive and friendly hosts. Peaceful location a short distance to Lyme Regis. Excellent breakfast. Welcomed our dog and treated with respect. Fenced area for dogs to have a decent run. Highly recommend.
Great location for walking down into Lyme Regis (though a bit of a steep walk back!).
The guest rooms were pleasant & comfortable.
The staff in the hotel were all really friendly & helpful.
The breakfast menu was excellent!! Really liked the ‘honesty box’ for helping ourselves to a drink. Also liked the fact the hotel had parking..a lot in Lyme Regis didn’t
