I stayed in Lowick, a small village as I was joining a trip to Lyndisfarne which is only a few miles away. I liked the fact that the village is close to the A1 but far enough away to avoid the noise of this busy road.

Lowick is a pleasant little village near the Northumberland coastline. Great location to explore attractions nearby. Black Bull is a lovely place to stay and to eat. Limited accommodation so not too noisy. Great for couples.

A beautifil wee village with 2 very good pub / restaurarants at either end. A great spot to decamp and strike out to Bamburgh or some of the other glorious spots in this beautiful part of the country. It's one of those places you'd think too good too not keep secret! Brilliant. We will be back there soon.

Lowick is a great place to stay when travelling up to Scotland - we used our visit to break the journey. It is a beautiful little village, with two great pubs (we stayed in the White Swan and ate in the Black Bull).

We enjoyed our stay. Lowick is a small Northumbrian village just south of Berwick, and a handy location for a stopover if you are travelling on the A1; but also a good base for exploring the local area. The White Swan is a friendly pub with simple, comfortable rooms and nice food. Pet friendly. The staff were organised and helpful. Good beer - Belhaven Best on tap. Breakfast is cooked to order and very good.

The staff at the hotel are helpful and friendly, our room was very spacious as was the shower room, the bar's cosy with a woodburning stove, dinner was excellent (several choices for vegetarians), so was breakfast. Easy to access walks with our dogs from the hotel, and it was only a few miles to drive to Lindisfarne.
