Great location for touring Northumberland and Scotland.
Great hosts who could do no more for us as we enjoyed their hospitality.
Great bar and breakfast room and great breakfast also included in the price.
Great if you also want a golfing trip as large golf course just a couple of miles away.
Lovely warm bedrooms.

The hotel is old and has lots of character. The staff are really friendly. Morgana was really helpful and very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel. We had a great stay and enjoyed looking in the old ballroom. We played cards till late in the bar, having drinks in front of the real fire. Chatted to many of the locals. It was a really nice weekend. The food was also great.

Host was super friendly and very informed about the local area. The personal touches were nice, and the property was spotless and spacious. Nothing was too much trouble, and would definitely come back again. Thank you.

We only passed through Beal from the Lindisfarne Inn to access the Holy Island. If you wish to do the same best to obtain safe travel times across the causeway. It is tidal and there are times when it cannot be used. The Holy Island parking is limited to the Pay and Display car park or elsewhere if the vehicle has a Blue Badge Holder on board.

Beal itself is only a small village and the Inn is a short distance out of the village. However, the road through the village is the only route to the causeway leading to Lindisfarne Island which is certainly worth a visit, especially if the weather is good. It is also well located for other locations such as the historic town of Berwick, and the Northumberland countryside, plus being within easy driving distance of the Scottish Borders area.

We couldn't get accommodation at the Holy Island (everything was sold out). I think if you come by car, Beal is very convenient, but without a car it is too complicated, since the busses and taxis are not very reliable, and Uber don't work there. The Inn just provided numbers to Taxi companies, who didn't answer. Clearly it is better if you can find accommodation at the Holy Island, but otherwise I will recommend to stay in Berwick-Upon-Tweed because you can take a bus or taxi from there to the Holy Island, and be sure to have the right time-tables or agreements to get back as well (given the tides).
The food at the Inn was really good (way better than what you would expect),

Lindisfarne Inn was a bit off the track for St. Cuthbert's Way but otherwise was good. We ended up taking the car across to the island. Too far to walk after our 7 days of walking as some of our group were elderly.

Beal is the town before going to Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
Beal is the town before going to Holy Island of Lindisfarne. It is small and not many options for meals. Beal is a 'backup' for accommodation when people are unable to get accommodation on the Island. The Barn at Beal does not stay open for dinners despite the fact they have a caravans/tent areas and it s high season for visitors.
