Returning stay having loved last year's break, in spite of the poor weather last visit. This time the weather was great and showed the hotel at its best. Lovely surroundings, exceptionally friendly staff, fascinating characterful building with history and current charm, very clean, nice food, very cosy public areas, big room, accessible options, nice bathroom, plenty of towels and large free car park. Very handy for South and Western Lakes and a pleasant back route to Bowness.

    lovely place for wedding party,

lovely place for wedding party, but noisy wedding guests spoiled the stay for me, traffic noise was an issue too, as dual carriageway on two sides of the property , lovely walks close by lovely staff too very good restaurant for dinner and breakfast

The staff were excellent, nice and very helpful. Breakfast was average and the evening meals were adequate, but the hotel was lovely as you would expect from a country manor house, very quirky too. The room and especially the bathroom are superb, very cleanly kept too, Would we go back ? Probably would, It is expensive but for a special occasion it is somewhere we would consider again.

Levens is a pretty little place, narrow roads and lanes require care though it was not busy. I'd recommend the Hare and Hounds as a great place to eat, good food, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

I used Levens as a base and drove out each day to visit other parts of the Lake District. It’s a good location to get out onto the road and drive to other places. There did seem to be a local bus service but I didn’t use this so I’m not sure how frequent the buses are. I’d suggest that you really do need a car if you’re staying here. The local area also seemed to have good options for things to do - eg Levens Hall. Levens is a small, pretty village. The Hare and Hounds has parking so it was easy to park next to where I was staying. The pub is a friendly place to spend time. I had Sunday dinner and breakfasts at the pub - the food is of a high quality and you can tell that great care is taken in preparing and presenting it. It’s good wholesome food.

With very helpful front desk staff, the ambience was relaxing and comfortable. The quality of the rooms (despite paying the upper price of those available) was ok, not that much better than a Premier Inn just smaller. Water pressure in the shower poor to the point that when inverted, the water flow almost stopped. Lots of unmentioned stairs, no lift, uneven car park. The meals were good (breakfast) to very good (a la carte dinner). Drinks reasonable selection but on the upper level of pricing, de rigueur for this sort of location, but within reason. Television remote wasn't working and the two replacements brought up didn't work either. Easy to find and nicely out of the way. if they were aiming for "shabby chic" they aren't far off.

The Villa is an excellent hotel. The building is located in beautiful grounds - with easy access to a beautiful walk through the Levens Hall Dear Park - and the hotel itself is a most attractive place to stay. I'm surprised it is not famous. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area, or passing by. It is, after all, very easily accessible from the M6, hence making it a great stopover for people travelling from the South to Scotland, say.

We came back for another stay at Villa Levens after an amazing stay last year and it did not disappoint. We got to stay in the same room, the room was huge and had a lovely bathroom with a big bath and very powerful shower. The staff were all attentive and offered advice on where we could visit in the local area. We had a continental breakfast in the orangery and it was great. We will be back again as soon as we possibly can!

Everything about the 2 night stay was excellent. Far beyond expectations. Accommodation and quality of room was first class and the food! Everything exceeded expectation. The location was also excellent. So handy for access to motorway and everywhere around. An excellent place for staying when on a course or visiting Levens Hall. We're planning another stay next year.

This hotel was in a beautiful location and amazing grounds for our Puppy (9months) room nice, beds comfortable and clean, bathroom nice tea coffee ect! If it wasn't for the heat problem on a night in rooms we would definitely return! But unfortunately it was too uncomfortable to sleep on the 2nd night. Parking was great and free.
