The village has one pub but otherwise does not have a lot to offer. However there are some very good country walks and it is idealy located for getting around Constable country and visiting Colchester and Lavenham.
The Spa was brilliant the reserving of beds excellent plenty of room. Spa treatment excellent.
The hotel staff were all very nice always said hello .
We had a lovely lady who served us afternoon tea she was just lovely. Afternoon tea amazing value my friend commented better than the Ritz.
Sports bar food again couldn't fault staff again excellent couldn't go out their way to help. We wanted to decide our bill four ways and sorted it out.
Beds very comfortable, good tea and coffee.
The receptionist was very welcoming. The room was large and comfortable. The pool was large and warm. The restaurant was great. I especially enjoyed the food and service in the restaurant, it was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Although I only used the pool area, the wider fitness centre looked good. The facilities at the hotel are wide ranging. Parking was easy. I understand it has a great golf course too...but I don't play.
The spa facilities weren't so good and I would have been disappointed if we had booked a 'Spa break'. Although I had a couple of treatments which were excellent. No robes for hotel guests, only those on a spa break wasn't very good either. Also reserved beds in the spa for those on a spa break meant that hotel guests had very few to go round.
The food was OK in the Sports Bar, but the other restaurants were very expensive.
Ideal countryside location & peaceful setting overlooking the golf course. Staff were very friendly and lunch served in the bar was excellent.
Dinner in the restaurant was very good, although the a la carte menu was limited & food could have been a bit warmer.
For a group of friends who are staying, the hotel can accommodate 3 adults in one room, with normal sized beds, making the stay excellent value for money.
Room was ok but a little noisy, there were some renovations taking place so I guess this must be expected but it was noisy. The hotel receptionist and bar staff were all very attentive and nice
The hotel is clean. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The sauna, steam room. jacuzzi and pool were perfect for some much needed relaxation.
