The King, hotel in Lanreath

Set 1 km from Readymoney Cove Beach, The King offers 4-star accommodation in Fowey and has a terrace, a restaurant and a bar.

Had the most gorgeous 2 night stay at The King. Stayed in the Super King room which is decorated beautifully and so classy. I’m sure the view from the room is one of the best in Fowey, overlooking the square and where the Polruan Ferry comes in. We stayed bed & breakfast and the breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. We finished our second night stay with a cheese board and bottle of wine sat on the perfectly positioned chairs soaking up the view from our room…perfection. We had our dog with us as well and she was very welcomed by all. Richard and Harriet are wonderful hosts and their personal attention really made our stay.

The Old Ferry Inn, hotel in Lanreath

Set on the banks of the Fowey River Estuary in Bodinnick, The Old Ferry Inn has provided food and cosy accommodation for over 400 years. It features a panoramic restaurant and traditional Cornish pub....

We could not find the old Ferry. The reason being it was not only totally covered in scaffolding on the two sides visible from the road but it was also covered in workman. The car park was a building site which we could not enter as it had the builders vehicle in it. It is impossible to park within half a mile of the property unless you cross the Stuart by ferry and leave your car there. It was impossible to park to unload the car plus our two dogs. The builders told us the owner or anyone else was not there. It turns out the Inn doesn’t open until 3pm. We were never told of the scaffolding or works which included stripping part of the roof to one side of the room we should have been staying in which also had scaffolding right up to it. We did the only thing we could do and crossed the estuary and looked for another hotel. It was almost 3 pm and by a miracle saw the sign for The Fowey Hall Hotel. They’re dog friendly and had availability. This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. It is immaculate inside and out with the most charming staff

Lovely place to stay. Clean and comfortable.

Lovely place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Heading was a bit warm at times but found it cold in the hallway (but we did go in December). Highly recommend this place and if ever in the area again would love to stay. The Tipsy Cow is the local pub situated within the village hall, nice and friendly.

Lanreath is beautiful, if you want something lively don't stay hear, simples! It is approx. 6 miles from Looe - not a problem if you have a car /bike to cycle but it takes you away from the hustle and bustle. Locals are lovely, so friendly & helpful we really enjoyed our stay.

Rowan lodge was probably one of the best b & b's l have stayed in. Breakfast was amazing. The village is very quiet, with beautiful views, old buildings and a friendly atmosphere. There's a church,a village shop and a social club to walk to if you want a drink in the evening. We weren't there over a weekend but they often have bands or events there too. Lanreath is in a great location to explore Looe and Polperro, Bodmin moor, its not very far from the Eden project, and the hosts at Rowan Lodge,Debbie and Paul, will recommend lots of restaurants.
