There was a pub onsite which was very handy as the location was quite remote so you don’t have to travel to have a drink.
The room was nice and dark.
The surrounding area was pretty.
Best pub to eat and relax is The Crown, opposite the Church.
Best pub to eat and relax is The Crown, opposite the Church. Their are some lovely country walks. The George and Born has a more lively feel in the evening and food is more down to earth, and accommodation is clean and sufficient, but small rooms. Met our needs!

The only reason we were in the area was to visit our son and grandson. Notmally we would have stayed with them but they are the process of moving so it was not possible to stay with them..
We did not even look round Kingsclere so sorry can not comment on it.

We stayed at Bel and the Dragon and would happily stay again. The staff were friendly and efficient. The place was spotlessly clean and the food exceeded our expectations.
The bedroom was very comfortably furnished and the bed was just right, plenty of comfortable pillows and high quality bedding. The bathroom has lovely products, I particularly liked the fact that single use products were not used, much more green to have refillable containers. We stayed one night to be close the Bombay Sapphire distillery, and would definitely stay again,

Kingsclere is a small village with two pubs a beautiful church and adequate services in terms of shops - a butcher, chemist and two grocery shops. It was less what Kingsclere had to offer but its location within an area with plenty of places to visit and with much to do. It was nice to be away from the pace of life these days but close enough to reconnect simply and quickly whenever you wanted to.

Nice village with several pubs.
Nice village with several pubs. Good walking at Watership Down nearby. I ate at Bel and the Dragon but there are other places in the village. If one wished one could drive to Newbury or Basingstoke easily too.
Beautiful hotel - spotlessly clean and decorated really nicely, very comfortable bed, great shower w lovely toiletries (inc conditioner - ace!). The staff were friendly, attentive, they knew who we were immediately and we felt very welcomed. The food was delicious, and a great complimentary breakfast. They even brought out a surprise brownie when they heard it was my wife's birthday. Very pretty village with a babbling stream. All in all, the best hotel experience we've ever had! Thank you!
I would have answered that the property exceeded my expectations if we had not had a previous stay that exceeded our expectations. On second thoughts, I could have answered that this stay exceeded our expectations because this time we were able to enjoy an excellent dinner with our son and daughter-in-law in the restaurant, which was not possible on the previous occasion.
Thanks to Nick, the hotel manager and his friendly, charming team!
We only used it as a sleeping base for a wedding and it did the job. Really lovely staff especially the breakfast and cleaning team. Nice room and comfy bed. No time for golf but looked a lovely course. Not sure why it was described as hotel and spa though as no pool or spa on site??
Excellent stay, room was large, clean, comfortable, had food from the restaurant which was great.(even though I had to walk across the car park to get it.) I thoroughly recommend this hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful...
Wonderful boutique hotel - lovely touches like my request for mint tea was met by a saucer of fresh mint - nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful staff and a truly relaxing stay thanks very much
great location from hotel where family wedding was taking place. beds very comfortable. facillities great.
lovely breakfast in morning we left.
very quirky old fashioned pub.
Clean, comfortable and larger than average hotel room. It felt a bit ‘special’ there and the breakfast room was lovely, good modern decor and olenty of food choces
